17 week appt update

I was just wanted to say that I did not know my baby's Heartbeat until my first Ultrasound either!!! Are you on anything for your BP? I finally got some place to order me my Electric Blood Pressure cuff and stuff!!! I just have to wait a few days until the Insurance Authorizes it. I am on meds for my BP. I bet your getting excited about your Ultrasound??? I am having another one next Tuesday!! Praying i can see baby better!!! I cannot wait til you post what you are having!!! If they can tell.

Hey Dee! Well, the doctor indicated that she didn't think my BP was an issue and they rechecked it after I had my blood work drawn before I left and it was nicely back down to 124/78. They were more concerned at my visit a month and a half ago when it was 130 something/ 90ish, but when they retested at the end it hadn't come down. I have such a severe "white coat syndrome" on top of my fear of needles!! I purchased a blood pressure cuff back in the beginning and started taking it myself. I also have a nurse that comes to visit me every other week...it's a program for first time mothers that's offered by the state...and thankfully neither one of us ever had high readings.
OMG I can't wait for the next 19 days to pass! We were going to take the oldest stepdaughter with us, but it came sooner than we expected and we decided it was best to just make the appointment with hubby and I and then we could share pics and details with the girls.
This is such an exciting time and I think the "I'm pregnant" thing has finally kicked in for me. Saturday was a highly emotional day and we've decided that we're going to move to PA, probably not til this coming June when the kiddos complete the school year, but I'm miserable not sharing this experience with my mom. I don't think I've let myself get overly excited about the baby since I found out and my family here has made this child seem more like a burden then a blessing and they just truly have no idea what this all means to me...as a woman and as a wanna be mommie.
Good luck with the next ultrasound...hopefully the "little turd" (as I've so become attracted to calling this little one lol) cooperates and shows off whats in between those legs. I'm super excited and can't wait to find out here very soon!! :)
