How soon is 'normal' for 1st cycle after D&C?

I had my D&C on 9/15/2010, only had real bleeding for about 2 days - very light after the first day; I had some bleeding again for a few hours only almost a week later...then nothing. Now today - 12 days after the D&C...bleeding again. Is this normal additional bleeding from the D&C? Or is it the first cycle after the D&C? What's a 'normal' time frame after D&C for the 1st cycle to start up again?

Thanks Chelle. I think someone told me that their cycle started up about two weeks after their D&C...so hopefully that's what this is...then I'll have another to wait out before being ready to try again.

It very well could be, or it could come again in two more weeks. You won't know until it repeats again in a normal cycle fashion. It probably is, but there isn't really a way to know until next month. :(

I also wanted to add that I'm thinking about you and am sorry that you had to go through all of this.

I had a D&C on October 21st 2004, and I didn't get my first 'post partum' AF untill December 3rd 2004. So almost 2 months. How far along were you? I had a missed m/c at 11wks but baby measured 8w6d.

I was 8 weeks exactly...but baby was measuring 6w2d. This is my first D&C...in the past, my body did all the work for me. I hope it's not going to take three months to get things going on schedule again...that'd be depressing.

I asked my BFF as she had a D&C after a miscarriage in July 2007. Had a "bleeding period" not sure if true cycle about 17 days later. Then her next period came 3 weeks after that. She had normal cycle in September and October and had a BFP in November with a healthy baby girl.

I am really hoping you have similar results!

Thanks for taking the time to ask your BFF Stephanie. The bleeding right now is very light - so hopefully it's just a little 'bleeding' period too....I'd love to say I copied your friend!

You are totally in my prayers! I do not post here often anymore (since my baby is almost 3 eeks) but I lurk and you are one of the ladies I really, really hope gets a BFP followed up by a BFB (big fat baby)
