Surprise PG, nine months after Roux en Y gastric bypass
I got pregnant 10 months after my sleeve surgery =) I have a beautiful, healthy 19mo old
If you're still loosing weight, (I was down to goal) then I would make sure you ate enough calories to at least stay the same! and make sure to get your vitamins checked. My daughter was 5lb 12oz, at 39w3d, so I believe it was because I got pg so soon. But.. she was well planned lol

I thought my weight had stabilized but I have lost a few lbs the past few days (which concerns me!) because I am not puking. I do not have much of an appetite (bloating, fatigue) but I am trying. Good food suggestions? I have been eating a lot of yogurt (this is a favorite anyhow) and drinking milk.
First congrats on the 100lb weightloss!!!! And also CONGRATS on your new pregnancy!!!!
As my surgeon stated when he was advised that I became pregnant only 6 and 1/2 months out from RNY. "You are no more at risk for any miscarriages or other pregnancy related issues than you were prior to the surgery". He stated in fact since I lost 105lbs that I would be a lot more healthier and less at risk for things like gestational diabetes, etc.
Since you and I have that malabsorbtion thing going on it's essential we do our best to take all our viatimins and a prenatal. I take (1 prenatal, 2 multiviatimins, calcium citrate, B12 injections and Iron). I had to double my caloric intake from 800 to about 1600-1800. It was a challenge at first to do this, but now I can get it in no problem. Stay out of ketosis and since a high protein low carb diet "per the doc" puts you in ketosis you must get some good carbs in.
CONGRATS again and may you have an uneventful 9 months.

I was spotting last night so here is an update:
I went in and had a transvaginal ultrasound done. The tech wouldn't tell me anything. I had to wait over an hour (since they saw me last minute) to see the actual doctor. She said one of two things is going on 1) I am experiencing a 'chemical' pregnancy OR 2) I am a lot earlier than I think. Nothing showed up on the ultrasound, which it should have if I was truly 6 weeks. I DO NOT remember the first day of my last menstrual period, so I guessed mid September. If my LMP was at the end of August, I would only be 4-5 weeks and it would make sense that the ultrasound isn't showing anything. They DID NOT see any signs of an ectopic pregnancy - which is good, at least. So, I had blood drawn to check my HCG levels. I will go back on Thursday to have blood drawn again. They want to see if my HCG levels are increasing. I am still spotting but not experiencing any significant pain (knock on wood). I am still feeling the same: a bit fatigued & taking naps. However, the doctor did say that one can experience symptoms even if it was a 'chemical' pregnancy. She also said the spotting could be implantation spotting. So, even if they draw blood on Thursday I may not know until early next week. We will see. I hope it is nothing bad...Hopefully, I am just earlier in the pregnancy than I thought ~ which my husband thinks.
