Update on my Ob appt...

I went to my Ob appt yesterday and everything seemed good except my BP was a little high for the bottom number. So my Ob prescribed me a BP cuff for home and to keep track of this at home. Now the thing is I went all over today trying to find a place that would prescribe me this BP cuff. No luck. I have a few more other places to check out. Sucks cause I have no idea what I am going to do if I cannot find a place that will prescribe me this cuff and bill my insurance company for it!!! Now my Ob is going to monitor me and baby more so my appts went from once a month to twice a month. I have another scheduled Ultrasound for Oct 5th which will be my second one..due to the last one the Ultrasound tech could not take all the pictures it needed to because the baby was in breech position.  I am hoping and praying that within the next two weeks my baby will not be in breech position anymore and will flip around so we can finally see the baby better. Then I have my next Ob appt Oct 7th two days after that. In addition to hoping to be able to get a better view of the sex of the baby at next ultrasound. I am excited to be able to get another one in two more weeks!!!

My baby was in breech position when I went for my gender scan at 19 weeks... but the tech was able to get a shot between the legs to verify that it's a girl. However, like you, I need to go back to get another session because she wasn't able to take any good pictures.

The good thing about having appointments more often is that you get more frequent updates and you'll get to hear the HB more.

Yeah very true. Thats why I am so excited!! I am hoping that at my 19 weeks Ultrasound appt that the baby will not be breech. The Tech did say at my last Ultrasound that she Thinks its a girl. But I am not going to go by WHAT SHE THINKS LOL. So to me my baby is still just a unknown sex. Hoping at next ultrasound the baby will give a better profile and will be able to have legs spread wide so we can get a better look. My baby's HB was 149 bpm.

Dee  I am just curious what kind of BP cuff the OB prescribed for you?  Is it a digital (automated) kind or a manual one that you would have to use a Stethoscope with?  Just curious.

I have no idea because I have not been able to find anyone that will even prescribe it to me. I have gone to like 3 different places today and neither place gives out BP cuffs. On my script it says BP cuff and some item number. Until I can actually get to a place that will have it I have no idea what kind it is.

Have you tried Home Health stores or a small town pharmacy?

Good luck! Hope you find out what the baby is! I absolutely went crazy when I found out that it's a boy. He now has a whole rack in his closet devoted just to him- I've only bought to 9mos and there are enough clothes for probably 3 babies...lol

Hey girl! Well, just wanted to say not to get too stressed over the bp thing...I thought I was going to have an issue with mine as well because at my August appointment my bp was high...think it was like 133/90ish and they made me go back in 2 weeks...went in and it was 110/73 so they changed my appointments back to once a month for now...they'll just have you monitor your bp and if it comes back down it may have just been a fluke...as in my case...so hope thats how it works out for you. And hopefully you get to find out what the baby's sex is. I have to go in Monday and I get to schedule my next ultrasound :) Best of luck girlie!

Yeah I am trying not to get to stressed. I think that the reason my bp was tade high is because I forgot to take my one dose of my meds that day. I am on pills twice a day for my bp and sometimes I forget to take them. Even tho I have my alarm set on my sell phone I still forget. I get side tracked and then notice I forget to take it after the time of the dose I am suppose to and I just wait til the next one. I am taking it every 12 hours.

It sounds like you have a prescription for it, you just can't find someone that can fill the prescription. I would recommend contacting your doctor's office and asking if they know of a medical supply company that supplies the BP device they want you to have. If they do not and you can't locate one, let them know they need to prescribe something more easily available.

Yeah you would think that if I have a filled prescription for it that I would be able to get it somewhere. I am going to call my dr's office and see where I would be able to get one filled. I have went to the medical supply store in my area and they do not bill my insurance company for them.
