Vitamins Help!

Ok so I went to my surgeon on the 16th and although my labs were perfect he said what vitamins are you taking I told him two Centrum Ultra Womens, 6-8 Citracal, Iron, and B12 he went on a rant about how I'm not digesting the Centrum so I went on Celebrate Multivitamins 3 a day, and 6-8 Citracal was able to come off the B12. So heres the dilema I'm pregnant and diabetic.  My obgyn, endocrinologist, and nutritionist all say the celebrate has triple what I need in some areas and not enough in others. My surgeon knows I'm pregnant but isn't taking that into consideration its his way or no way. All my doctors are at a loss so I'm asking you for help. Is there a prenatal that I'm going to be able to absorb(digest) where I won't be taking 11 vitamins a day that may or may not be hurting my baby. Please help me.
Thanxs, Amy

Did he say why you are not absorbing the centrum? Maybe try centrum chewable? Also, did you stress to your other dr's that you are now malabsorbing 50% of your vitamin intake? Sorry as it sounds, some dr's do not realize or care & dismiss it as rubbish.

These might be a good option because they are soft-gels:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11467957&whse=BC&Ne=5000001+4000000&eCat=BC|589|770|1010&N=4001268 4294965837&Mo=11&pos=7&No=6&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC24936-Cat770&topnav=

I've seen them at other stores in smaller bottles at pretty much the same price.  Costco seems like the best deal all-around.

I haven't taken the prenatal one, but I've had really good luck with their regular Women's Formula.  My labs are great.

Good luck!

I seriously don't understand why there isn't a consensus about vitamins. One bariatric doctor will say one thing. Another will say something completely diferent. Ultimately I would follow my surgeon since he has more experience with bariatric patients. Now I will tell you I take regular over the counter prenatals, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and iron. It sounds like a lot but I finally found a vitamin combination that works for me. My labs which I make them take every couple of months are great. They started off low ( I wasn't dilligent about the vitamins I fully admit) then once I found vitamins I liked they improved greatly to the normal range.  This has just been my experience. But like I said I would go with my surgeon said and if you have to suplement later then I would just cross that bridge when I got to it. Good luck. I know how confusing the whole thing can be.
