Well, Mr. Aiden has severe reflux and colic. He threw a royal screaming fit in the office today. So, everyone was staring and did get to experience it first hand. He weighed 10 pounds 1 oz. The doctor prescribed a medication and said it should stop the reflux. We just have to wait for him to outgrow his colic. She said the excessive tooting is from the screaming. They being in more air from all the open mouth screaming and have more. then we give gas drops thinking it is gas. I am happy to know there is something causing his discomfort!!!

I am sure it makes you feel much better to have the Doc witness it and take you seroiusly.
I hope things settle down shortly for both of you!!

I'm glad you found out what's likely causing the problem.  Did the dr tell you how long it'll take for the meds to kick in and he'll be more comfortable re the reflux?  Hopefully once he's more comfortable, the colic will be reduced to a doable level.

See...you're a good mom.  You knew something was up...and you were right!  Keep following those mommy-instincts.  God gave 'em to you for a reason.

The doctor said I can't make him 100% better but I can make him 60% better by taking care of the colic. She said within 4 days it should stop production of acid and make him better.

Thanks Holly! It is amazing when you start questioning yourself and wondering if your child wants to trade you in!

I was going to ask on your other post if he spits up a lot because it was sounding like reflux to me.  Unfortunately we have plenty of experience with that.

Ruby's acid is under control with Prevacid but she still spits up a ton.  What medication did the doctor prescribe for him?

Hayvann has been on zantac and gas drops since she was 2 weeks old for the same thing. It helps her so much. I also had to swicth her to alimentum formula because she has a milk protein sensitivity. So hopefully the meds will kick in quick. They did well for her!

I am so happy you found out what was going on! Its sad how many kids go undiagnosed because parents are told "babies cry" Hopefully you will see improvement over the next couple of days! :)
