Maybe it's not a boy afterall.....Now I'm confused

Okay, this you're not going to beleive. Went I went to find out gender yesterday the lady had me totally not scheduled, she was running 1 hour behind already and squeezed me in. When I got back there she was distracted by Tyler (my 3 year old) constantly playing around in this chair. Tyler playing added more  pressure of her being an hour behind and patients were still waiting that were scheduled. When she first started looking and said "think" it's a girl. Then she left in the middle (the person before me DVD she made finished and she had to go to the lobby to hand it to her) and then she finally came back and looked some more and was hurried and still distracted by Tyler still playing and said it was a boy due to lump between the legs. I accepted it and besides I saw the lump too. She said "girls dont have lumps between their legs".All the time I felt uncomfortable with my experience. Nonetheless I announced "It's a BOY!".

Well I went to "Precious Previews" (another place) to get another scan and I was the only one in the office so the lady took all the time in the world. She was knowledgeable and you can tell she knew her job and anatomy. She said, no way this is a boy. Boy  parts have a turtle head like apperance and there's two circles representing the scrotum and penis. She stated many sonographers mistake a lump for a penis. She showed me at the lump and there was three lines..That's a labia she said, as the labia is often swollen in apperance at this gestation and skilled sonographers understand that. She stated if this were a penis you would see 2 circles.

Long story short...ITS A GIRL!!

BUT what to do? What to believe?

OMG, LOL!!! Uh, I guess you've got a 50-50 shot at this! Maybe go somewhere else in a couple of weeks for a THIRD opinion!

I'm still wondering if I'm going to go for my 27-week 4D session and they're going to tell me that the sex has changed, LOL! Well... I guess the good news is that I painted the nursery with a neutral theme, and anything that is gifted to me can be returned. Ya know... just in case. LOL

Either way... you can't be 100% sure until the day our babies make their arrival!

Here is what my gender scan at 25 weeks looked like ... obviously a boy...  Did she give you a picture of the bits?

looked nothing like that one. Mine was a triangular shaped 1 lump and it was a very small lump. Yours is very distinct and you can see the turtle head like shape. Mine was nothing like it and it had 3 lines that were highlighted on top of the small pimple like lump. Outside of the fact it was a small lump it didn't look anything like a penis. Thanks for sharing Tabetha, now I'm really convinced it's a girl on my US.

Looks like a girl to me.. but I'd definitely want to confirm that at the anatomy scan.

I would not trust it until your 20 plus week ultra sound. 16 weeks is early.

Yes, I hope it's a girl too!I know that's what you wanted. i guess go back in a few weeks? I would go to where the 1st girl messed up (I'm assuming it was through your dr's office) and explain you had a different opinion, you would like their most experienced tech to do a re-check at a time that is not busy. They should do it, I think. Ask for the office manager. Good luck!!!

You know what Chelle, I think I will. I want a redo at their expense considering the lab tech concentrated more on my son than she did the sono. But my bad on brining a 3 year old to such an event. It's just that my husband is away on military training and I had no babysitter and daycare was closed on Sunday. Today when I went to that other clinic he was in daycare and that tech took her time. I uploaded the sono from today's US, which is uptop in an earlier thread on this post. Perhaps the ladies here can give me their best guess...for fun..
