Question... I know I might have asked this before but..

I am curious to know.. those of you who have been under fertility treatment with Femara and injectables (Follistim/Ovidrel) and were successful getting pregnant..... how frequent did you have relations?

My first round... we did it just the 3 days that the dr indicated and like 3 times a day.. (we were thinking the more the better)
2nd round -- did 3 days once every day for like 6 consecutive days
3rd round - yesterday was Ovidrel injections.. once last night...and I am sure once today and tomorrow too.. and I am thinking if it's better to do it every other day after the 3rd day... I know that hubby needs to regenerate his soldiers...

Also..I sort of have a sensitive (shy) question..but here I know we can ask anything...
Last night when we had relations... after the "action" when hubby pulled out.. he had significant amount of sperm on his "tool".. we were on missionary position but him standing up... Has this happened to any of you? (We know he didn't pull before)

Have you found any specific positions better than others? He is overweight too and I am still not close to my goal but have lost 130 lbs.. and we are sort of limited in been creative...

Tonight a friend invited me to a "toy" party at her house..several coworkers of mine are going... I have NEVER been to one..but think that timing is perfect.. I have never been to one but I imagine that we might get the "toys" at the moment vs. mail order.  Has anyone gone to one? I told hubby is a Pampered Chef party...

I could NEVER get hubby to go to one of those stores with me... He is way too shy for that...

Usually every other day for the few days before, during and a day or so after ovulation should cover it.  The day's rest in between gives your hubby time to generate more boys.  The first thing I'd tell you if you're trying 3x a day, is eventually it will become like homework and the fun will be gone...which then starts adding stress into the mix, which you don't want.    Some boys don't play well when stressed, if you know what I mean. 

Re there being some extra when pulling out...don't worry about it.  If he can stay in long enough to squeeze out as many as possible, you should be covered.  There are millions of them there and it only takes one.  I know drs will tell you it likely won't make any difference, but afterwards, for you...I'd say stay laying down and rest for at least 10-20 minutes.  I usually just try to go to sleep for an hour or so and let the boys swim before getting up to wash off.  For positions, I believe that it may be easier to get deeper penetration (due to weight issues of both of you...been there done that w/myself and DH) is with you on your knees...but if you can't do that...then 'missionary' style is fine.

Also keep in mind when you use toys you need lubricant, and lubricant can kill sperm. I agree with Holly's suggestion to stay laying down afterward for about 20 minutes.

The toy parties are fun! It should help you get revved (sp?) for your fun evening with your hubby!!! If the presenter is good it'll be a blast! Just relax and have fun! You can use the preseed lube with the toys, but they don't have what you need for the baby! They can make a fun time for your "off nights/days". Just find some fun stuff and help your hubby become more adventurous! I apologize for my lack of spelling ability today!

Our dr told us that every other day is best for intercourse, but once daily is ok nearing ovulation.  My dr said that having sex multiple times a day actually decreases the quantity of sperm, b/c his body doesn't have time to replenish the sperm adequately.

Yes, we are NOT doing it 3x day anymore......now once a day and I think after 3rd day, every other day...

We do use preseed lubricant... somehow it feels so much better... :-)

I have never been to one of these parties but looking forward to it and have a great time... not sure at what time I'll be home.. not sure if I will be back on time to do some "playing" because he plays with his best friend online one of those roleplay games.. usually Fr and Sat at 10pm.

Every other day should be good.  If you can get it the night before O (positive OPK) or O day, that would be good.

Again though, I implore you to make your doctor do IUIs.  If your mucuous is hostile or the swimmers are not a good forward progression, it doesn't matter how many eggs you produce.  Injectables are too expensive to leave to timed intercourse for those undergoing fertility treatments.

Yea, I agree with what others have said, be in a position that provides the deepest penetration, that way giving the little swimmers a much closer opportunity to "do their thing".  Also, laying down with you hips/butt propped on a pillow for about 20 minutes will make sure the little swimmers go in the right direction (your uterus is tilted in the right position).  Good luck!!
