I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm diabetic. Is anyone else? This is my first pregnancy and I have lots of questions. Does anyone know what a perfect A1C is while pregnant.

I was too, but not sure about A1C. I had to keep my fasting below 100 and my after meals at around 150-160. Hope that helps. They were very strict about it too, the very first time I was above his goal they put me on insulin (I've only been on metformin)

I also have GD. I also had it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have been taking my blood sugars this time since 10 weeks. Just this week they have started to go up. They want my fasting below 100 and after meals 130 or less. I have not ever had to take insulin so far. My last AC1 was 5.1. On my Dr's site it says normal is 4.8-5.9.

I was considered diabetic before this preg..had gestational with the 1st. The 1st I was on insulin the last trimester..this time I started insulin at bedtime almost 3 weeks ago, I test in the morning, then 2 hours after each meal. They wanted my morning BS under 95..they are running around 85ish. My others during the day are 70-85. I fell like it is no big deal. Its all about the baby! Good luck!

My A1C was 6.4 which is normal but I want it better.

My A1C was 5.1 when I got pregnant and still ended up on insulin. I just saw my endo 2 days ago and they are more worried about individual blood sugars, not the A!C so much since that is only an average of all BS's for 3 months..they are looking at BS's..fasting in AM <95 2 hours after meals <120.
