Have you ever....

Been so hungry you feel like you could nah your own arm off if someone didn't find you something to eat immediately!!!???

What the heck is up with this?

I know, first trimester, but holy stinking diapers batman!!!
I'll eat my breakfast, lunch, whatever....be ugly full and then 30 minutes later be desparately digging in my bag for food 'cause I feel like I am so hungry I'm gonna be sick.

I at least have decent snacks...but I really just hate feeling so connected to food...it goes against so much that we have conditioned ourselves to.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this? I imagine the answer would be to eat...luckily no weight gain, but it's hard to keep up with all the healthy snacks.

Thanks for listening to me whine  ;-)

I was the same way in the 1st trimester, I felt like I was famished all the time and that I was eating way more than I usually do (which I was).  The good news is that it did taper off around 20 weeks and now I'm eating more normal.  I found too that if I ate protein vs. what tasted good and I really shouldn't have, I was not hungry so quickly.  But I just felt like I was eating 24/7.  I have no idea how I managed to gain no weight, I'm only up 3 pounds at 26+ weeks.

I should probably focus more on proteins...  ;-)
Glad it's not just me though, there are times I feel like I have to stop everything I'm doing and find something to eat right then and there...ugh

Wow, only 3 pounds and 26 weeks, congrats!!!!!!
My first pregnancy I was 280+...and I only gained 18 pounds total.
I'm hoping this one will be even healthier now that I am.

Thanks for the post!!

I am the same just about every other day or so...I feel like I could eat EVERYTHING in my freezer and refrigerator all in one sitting. I'm such a picker these days that it seems like almost nothing satisfies me. There are days when I swear I should be gaining pounds, but somehow the scale has bounced around...it cracks me up when I have a rotten day and swear I'm going to gain 10 pounds and bang the next morning...I drop weight. I started at 185 got up to 189 now I'm down to 183 for the 2nd consecutive day. The other frustrating part is that I would give anything just to look pregnant! I feel like a fat oaf, but I've been told three times now I looks sickly thin in my face and my waist looks like its shrinking...go fig!!! UGH!

That sounds about right Kerri....it certainly goes in waves.
Wow, can't believe you're dropping weight but it would make sense if the baby is taking all your food and nutrients. Which would explain why people think you're losing weight.....Try to think positively, that if your waist is shrinking, it'll make it that much more pronounced once you do start showing!!

You could have the opposite....by 4 weeks, I was already up 2 sizes and tracking down maternity clothes. Granted, it's my 2nd pregnancy and with the skin and shape I have taken, that short period of time already started reshifting me.
Here's my silly notice....I think I might actually have 1 tummy this time!!  Yay!!!   My whole life I have had the "tire effect" because I wore clothes too small so that I could try to look smaller. I did damage by having an upper tummy and a lower tummy. Where my belly button was non-existant because it was always folded or top and bottom tummy would stick together.
As of now, I'm starting to see my belly button again!!! (even with the wls, the skin hangs over the belly button) Silly accomplishment, but I'm excited.

Sorry, didn't mean to make so long!
Hang in there, your baby will thicken your waist at some point and I bet it'll be beautiful!!!!!!!

I was telling a friend of mine about the belly button thing the other day. I told her I have been overweight all my life and I cant wait for my belly button to not frown for onece! She laughed soo loud.

That is too fun!!  Again, like everything else we experience, I am so glad I'm not the only one!

I think what is exciting, is my first pregnancy (before wls) I still had the 2 tummys...which was disappointing because I figured pregnancy would fix that....it didn't.
So to actually see it happening with this one just excites the daylights out of me!!!

Hope your belly button frown gets turned right side up!!!!

I have not felt that way but I have felt like I cannot eat fast enough LOL. And well with having horrible morning sickness and still on occasion I am such a picker eater. I am always staying with foods that I know will not make me sick. I am constantly eating pudding, pickles with cheese wrapped around it, toast, crackers, cereal, and loving pizza and cheesesteaks!!  I cannot eat chicken at all cause I get so horribly sick from it. Oh I eat more than what  put here but these are the things I tend to eat more of than anything else. And I am loving chocolate!!! I swear my fav candy bar right now is a 5th Ave!! anything peanut butter and chocolate I want and can eat and not get sick at all. Strange how that works...and I am 4 months pregnant and have not gained a pound yet. Which is odd to me but I think its because I puke a lot after I eat something that does not agree. However I go back and grab crackers after I do that and eat crackers to settle my stomach. Uugghh after this I will be so sick of crackers lol.

Wow Dee....all of that sounds pretty yummy!!!

See, I crave a lot of fruit...and it makes me sick most of the time...but I'm not able to throw up so I have to sit for like 30 minutes and be absolutely miserable.
There are times when things sound good....so I'll buy it and then next day I absolutely hate it and then I'm stuck with it....I am constantly changing what I want and that is making things difficult.

Congrats on not gaining. I think as of today I have gained 3 pounds and I am in my 3rd month...so not too bad.

First trimester I was so sick all I ate was soup! Once the ms went away I was eating more. Now, my blood sugar will drop and I will be starving. I am eating all the time! It's miserable and I hate it. But on the plus side, the OB's are not too concerned about my weight.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
