Calling all bandster preggos! Advice please?
Hi,
I conceived when I was 2 years and 4 months out, so pretty far out from surgery. I can understand your sense of urgency, especially since you're 35 (if I did the math correctly). However, half a year or so age-wise is not going to up your likelihood of complications much, while taking that time to lose additional weight will really help you have a healthier pregnancy.
I never had an unfill. I am still doing ok with about 7 weeks to go. I still have restriction (and it still varies depending on how much fluid I'm retaining!)

Der Kel,
Our situations are so similar I had to chime in. Like you I have a 15 yr age difference between me and my husband. I had lap band in March of 2009 and was pregnant by July 2009. The reason I got pregnant so soon was that my husband and I really wanted one more child (we have a 4 year old) and he was approaching 50. If we were going to go for it he wanted to do it sooner rather than later, which I completely understood. I did just fine with the pregnancy. I only gained 20 lbs and at my 6 week check up I was 10 lbs lower than when I got pregnant. My daughter weighed 8lbs 7oz at birth. She is now 6 months old and I am back to losing weight and doing great. While I don't recommend what I did, I did want you to hear my story and know that even of you don't wait till 18 months post-op to get pregnant you can have a healthy baby and then get right back to the business of losing weight.
