Today's Appointment

My fluid is down to a 3........the dr stripped my membranes and has me returning back to labor and delivery at midnight tonight. So, it looks like anytime tomorrow or the next day we will meet our little girl!! Excited, overwhelmed, it has come really fast...I've been crying since the appointment and not sure why.

I do have one question and if it keeps up I will call the dr back.....do you bleed after they strip your memebranes? I'm not bleeding like a period, but a little more than spotting......

I didn't bleed with mine, but my water broke 2 days later. It is normal to have spotting/some bleeding. When they strip your membranes, they deattatch the bag of waters from the cervix. It's very painful, it made my whole body hurt for that day. They tell you that it's normal to have spotting after a regular exam, so I wouldn't be suprised if you had some bleeding. You should be fine. It may cause your water to break, or contractions to start today(if your lucky!). Good luck to you!

Yes, I usually bled for a few days after each stripping - however if it is heavy enough to fill a pad quickly you need to call your Doc ASAP

Can't wait to hear of your little girls arrival!
