Just so you know, I had the depo shot and was a hormonal mess for 3 months. Acne galore, gained 25 pounds. I've heard stories of women getting pregnant on it too. Just be sure to research reviews online and message boards. Internet is a wonderful thing!

I had the Mirena IUD right after RNY for about 4 years (should be good for 5). I was starting to get some side effects from it (bloated tummy, acne, moody, etc). I don't know if that stuff was going on all along and I just didn't realize what was causing it or if they just were starting.. But overall, I loved the Mirena. My periods stopped completely after a few months after I got it placed. Gotta love that!!

Just had to put my opinion on this that I would not choose any kind of birth Control if you are over the age of 30! My opinion. If you do not plan on having any more get your tubes tied. I took BC when I was 15 til I was 20. And stopped taking it and had 2 miscarriages previously but thats only because I had no idea I was even pregnant until that happened. My periods were irregular from taking BC for so many years. And I got really fat and high blood pressure due to them. I cannot take BC anyways because I end up with High Blood pressure. What I have done after my surgery which did work for the first entire year and I must have given in on the wrong day. Where I did not think I could get pregnant but I did. I kept track of when i was ovulating every month and would not have sex then. My hubby and I do not use any sort of BC method. Hes allergic to Condoms so its very hard for us. Another reason is I believe BC is not healthy for a woman over 30 in my eyes. I have heard way to many horrible stories of women having issues with BC as they get older. Some of them stories were really horrible like a 32 yr old woman of 4 children dying from a blood clot because of BC. I know those are all side effects but them side effects do effect some women. You just do not know. As far as anything else besides the pills like IUD or mirena..I still would not consider that because of infections. This is just my opinion and no I am not catholic and do not believe in BC..I just would not prefer BC to any woman over 30.

We're crazy and just tracking my cycles and NOT baby dancing around O time.

I was on nuva ring before Sage and got pregnant on it, which ended in a chemical pregnancy.  So now I decided on no hormonal BC anymore!
