Im really worried about my weight gain..this is my 3rd pregnancy since dec 08..i had my 2nd child in august of last year, got pregnant again in dec of 09, miscarried in january and was prego again in february    I had rny in 2007 and was a healthy weight at 154lbs and am 5'9..then i wieighed 196 when i had my daughter last year..got back to my pre pregnancy weight by my the time i found out i was prego in december...now, im 31 weeks and weigh 194lbs...im so afraid my weight gain is going to balloon and i will never lose it after the baby    I feel so big now and its making me nuts but i am hungry and sometimes i get sick because i feel so hungry..but all my labs are perfectly fine.  any suggestions on what i can or should be doing to get this under control so that i can get back into shape after the baby is born?

Hey there! I'm so happy to find someone on the boards who was a patient of Dr. Eid's. I had my ryn back in Jan of 2007. I was happily down to 140-145, but throught the last 2 years of letting loose...and not being preggo til now...I managed to regain back up to around 190-195. I started the South Beach Diet in May and was happily seeing my numbers go down and feeling better about my weight until July 12th when I found out I was pregnant. I was down to 185 and feeling awesome! I managed to regain all on my own though :( Currently, I've only gained 3-5 pounds depending on the day and the scale bounces between 187-189....and I'm only 15 weeks into it.  Seeing 190 on my scale is something that I'm scared of because I know what comes next...the big 200 again! UGH! I'm also feeling like I'm STARVING non stop and scared of the effects on my pouch. My labs have also come back with great numbers thankfully, but it doesn't take away from the fact that I'm feeling very fat and somehow angry with my scale. I plan on getting back on the South Beach Diet after birth and breast feeding hopefully. I don;t have much advice, but I wanted to say hello and say you're not the only one! Hang in there and best of luck with your pregnancy and the weight loss after...hey hopefully by the time I've given birth to my little one you can give me some great advice ;)

Best of luck!

I hear ya... I have been preggo 4 times since 2007, with 3 little ones (3,1, & 8 wks) right now after losing 15 lbs from #3 I am the same weight I was when I delivered #2 - ugh. I have 40 lbs to lose to be at my lowest weight, 65 to goal. I am freaking out. Before I got preggo with my 2nd child I was a 12/14 - I had to buy size 20 jeans today.

I am trying not to let it get the best of me. I realize how blessed I am to have my children and that there are people out there that would gladly put 50 lbs on to have a baby, but it is so frustrating! I am going to try the 5 day pouch test....

Good luck - you know what you need to do, stay away from sugars and carbs -  lots of water in between. What made a HUGE difference for me in the past was cutting out starbucks and soda. Seriously - I was walking 4 miles and a day, cutting out the bad stuff and I lost 45 lbs in between my miscarriage and 2nd baby ( 6 months). Now off to try to follow my own advice....
