2nd Baby (Post a C-Section)
My hubby and I are talking about having a second baby (not right this minute). My doctor and i duscussed it at my 4 week post partum visit. She said to wait 6-12 months before trying to allow time for the c-section to heal. I wanted to see those if you that had multiple children via c-section how far a part are they?
My first two were 27 months apart, and this baby will be 18yrs; 6mos apart. I had a VBAC between the first two. On baby #2 they gave me an epidural and my contractions slowed down. They weren't able to do any pitocin because they were worried about my uterus not being able to handle the contractions that pitocin can cause. They stopped the epidural and the contractions started again. I went through the rest of the labor with no medications. I'm not sure if its because they were only 27mos apart or if that's standard protocol for any VBAC delivery.
My current OB is saying that her office policy is once a c-section, always a c-section due to liability reasons. I love her, but I am thinking of changing dr's, cause I really want to have another vaginal delivery.
If you are in favor of trying for a VBAC you may want to ask your dr about the office policy regarding meds, time lapse etc.

Well My sister had two babies at 19 months apart and they both were c-sections. She also had a really bad infection the first time and her c-section was left open for about a month after in order to get the infection out..so by the time she found out she was pregnant again my nephew was 10 months old and her c-section was healing for about 9 months before she found out. And she did just fine with having the second one...like almost right after the first. You should be fine if you at least wait the 6 months. Best of luck to you!!
I want to get preggo soon too and I was wondering the same thing. I've done a lot of research since having Sage and it seems that the process, surgery, recovery is way harder the second time around. I am hoping for a V-bac but no place I seem to look will even attempt a v-bac.
