Is it normal? (TMI)

Okay, question for anyone...and I know y'all will be great about having an answer  :-)

Had sex last week...the next day, thought I was going to have a bm and didn't, but when I wiped, there was spotting. It's the 'old blood'...but it freaked me out just the same. Then nothing else the rest of the day.

Next day, I did have a difficult bm...and there was spotting again when I wiped.

Now it's been a few days, no more bm's...and no more spotting.

Is this normal????
I am super afraid to have sex now with hubby (nor do I have any desire)...what do I do??

Thanks in advance!!!

My guess is that it was from straining, BUT, please call your dr and check. I would def call before resuming sex, just to be safe. Good luck and I hope you don't have this issue anymore!

Thank you  :-)

Go figure, it happened Thursday and their office closed at noon Friday and then a 3 day weekend.
I'll definitely call them today.

Thanks again!!

I'd say check with your doc to see where your placenta is. That's what happened off and on through the pregnancy with my son and it turned out I had placenta previa.
Some spotting  can happen after sex though. There is so much  blood running through the body. Check with your doc. It will make you feel better.
Good luck.

Robin,
That is a great suggestion. I had that probelm with my first pregnancy....hmmm.

I emailed the doc and am waiting for a reply...if I don't hear back soon, I'll call them. Luckily hubby hasn't given me too many googly eyes so hopefully he can wait just a little bit longer.  LOL

Thanks!!!

I had "old blood" spotting maybe a month ago. I ended up going in to get checked out (no problems!). When I talked to my OB (who wasn't on call when I went in), he said that your cervix has a lot of blood vessels these days, and can bleed from sex, vigorous activity, or even straining for a bowel movement. Since you've got a couple choices there, there's probably a good explanation, but getting checked out can't hurt. The time to worry would be if the blood was bright red.

Thank you...that is definitely a good list of possibilities and sound right up my alley.
I emailed the dr's office but haven't heard back from them.

Other crazy things have gotten in the way...my poor kiddo started kindergarten 3 weeks ago and already has a bully!!!  Golf ball size knot on his forehead from being pushed down on the concrete floor. I'm still not over that...ugh.

Thanks for the help!!  Greatly appreciated!!!

If you are worried about the spotting, tell your DH you aren't up for sex for a while.  If he's a decent guy, he'll understand.  I did have spotting on and off for most of the first trimester in my first pregnancy, so I know how stressful it is even when you know intellectually it's probably nothing to fear.

It truly is funny how things are sometimes so different from the first time...
I am hoping my hubby is understanding, I got a reply from the doc and they recommended no sex at least until my appt (Sept 23-in 2 weeks!) and they told me what to look for.

The things we go through for such beautiful miracles!  :)
