Peeing on sticks...

I am supposed to get my period on friday. We have been TTC for 2 months. This morning I peed on an ovulation test stick, 2 lines. Sent hubby to store to get a pregnancy test, he comes back with a double pack of Shoprite brand with the plus or minus sign. Eagerly pee on 1st stick. A very faint plus sign (the horizontal - line is much brighter than the vertical line, which you can barely see). Proceed to ***** at husband for trying to cut costs and not getting a better pee stick. Resume to squiniting at stick in sunlight. Sent husband to work with a dirty look. Do 2nd test an hour later. Same results. Instructions say it does not matter if one line is darker than the other *** is that good or bad?) Pee on another ovulation stick for kicks, because I heard than can detect a pegnancy hormone. 2 lines again. Has anyone else gotten a "maybe" plus sign? I told husband to stop at pharmacy and get a clearblue easy test on the way home tonight, only because I myself have spent about $100 on various sticks over the past few months. LOL maybe I will know something more tonight.

The last one I took was a plus minus thingy....the positive popped up lighting fast and dark and the cross of it was super light and didn't matter.  :-)

Good luck!!

Oh, another thing...did you wait like 15 minutes and go back and look again? I know it's silly...but the faint ones sometimes get a little darker if you wait like 15-30 minutes...a positive is a positive!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, another silly thing... pee in a disposable cup then dip the stick in the cup...this will help ensure a better coverage of the stick  :-)   It always kept me from ruining a stick from too much pee or not enough.

Good luck!!!

I went out and got a 2 pack of ept digitals. The first one said not pregnant.....second one 20 minutes later said PREGNANT. Which one do I believe? I guess my body is weird! 6 sticks later and still don't know for sure!!

Oh the wonderful world of pregnancy testing!!! LMAO I took about a total of 9 before I believed it...I did so much research on false positives and everything else...I did read that the red dye tests seem to be the better choice over the blue dyes. However, as I learned after much time and money, a positive is a positive. If you want to get another one, I suggest buying the dollar general ones...you can buy as many as you like and they're only a buck and they're the red dye ones. I know how excited you must be! If you want to feel better, I would wait til tomorrow morning and take a test first thing when you're hcg levels are the most concentrated. Good luck girlie and I know those hours of waiting are torture, but maybe it will help you feel a little better about the faint lines you've seen already.

I'm no expert on the types of POAS options availalble nowdays in the U.S., but I'd say a positive - however faint - is a positive.  It's probably faint because it's a little early to be testing...but it sounds like good news to me!

Congrats!

Chelle, your post is too funny. Men will be men...I have a frugal husband, as "he" states, but I say just plain old CHEAP. I'm pulling for this to be a positive for you, but to tell you those faint lines do mean something. I kept having 2 days of faint lines and then the third day I tested, which was about 12 DPO (Days post ovulation) and the faint line turned into a darker one. Never got 2 real strong lines, but here I am going on 15 weeks pregnant. I'm going to pray on this one for you sweetie :) Good luck!!

P.S. - Get the most sensitive test on the market today "First Response Early Result" it let's you test 6 days before your missed period, so it can read really low HCG.
