Well, my fiance and I are getting married in Novemeber. We want to start trying to have a family soon and I'm not too sure if I should wait longer. I'm 7 pounds away from my goal weight, I'm kinda nervous about gaining weight.

I geuss my question is, how far out were you?
How much weight did you gain/have to lose after the baby?
Did you have a normal pregnancy?

Thank you!

My parents just got home from Alaska -beautiful place!!

How is your labwork? If it is good then go for it! Congrats on getting married too :)

I was 2 1/2 years out, gained 24 pounds and lost it all within 2 weeks of delivering. THe only complication was that I lost a lot of blood during the delivery and became anemic. Certainly not something related to my surgery exclusively. I start iron infusions next week and will be good to go.

Good luck TTC!!

I'd say you're in the ball park of being ready.  Talk to your surgeon and see what s/he says.  They may want you to wait until you're stabilized a few months before starting...I think they usually want you to be at a stable weight for 6 months.

God luck...and congrats on your upcoming wedding.

I was two years and a week to the day when I got pregnant with this one. With my miscarriage I was about 16 months out. Not saying the time is what caused it, I had a few issues we didn't know about until it was too late.  I would get the ok from your surgeon before you start.  I have gained WAY too much for my tastes but the OB is happy with my weight gain. I have had as normal of a pregnancy as I can have. I have a few other health issues that have been aggrivated by being pregnant. Nothing that they say is a result of having surgery then getting pregnant.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
