That's funny people got onto you for NOT bf your daughter.  The norm usually seems to be that people get their panties in a bunch when they see a woman bf, saying it's gross and disgusting and 'Do  you have to do that HERE?!'  People need to just learn to mind their business.

yes you will produce unless there's something unrelated to your surgery going on remember to stay hydrated. and also pumping is less efficient than a baby suckling at the breast so it will take longer also

You most likely can.  My boobs didn't get big until a few days after I had Sage.  They blew up.  I BF'ed for 3 weeks then I dried up.  I am pretty sure it was because I wasn't eating enough and Sage started sleeping through the night then so i wasn't waking up anymore.

Size really does not matter, I have known mothers with A cups who have nursed for three years and those with size D's that have insufficient breast tissue and can not nurse at all. My only suggestion to you is to read and research, knowledge is power in this kind of situation. I had many people try to bully me into forumla b/c I had some small issues, but I knew how important it was and I knew that most of the pressure I was getting was based on myth, so I told people where to put their advice and I am still nursing my little man.

It is so healthy for mother and baby, it reduces the risk of so many things and it really is natures perfect food. Pumped milk is better then formula, but stright from the tap is always best, and many women have trouble pumping and so their supply decreases and thats the end of that.

Call your hospital and see if they offer a breastfeeding class, contact your local LLL and attend a meeting, get the numbers of LC's in your area who do home visits this way you can be prepared before baby get's here.

Well, when I was pregnant with my first, I was kind of creeped out by the idea of bfing. Up to that point they had only been used for fun, so to speak. lol Using them to feed my son seemed odd,  like when he would kick the cervix and hit my a-spot. Unnerving! However, when I started feeding him, it was the most natural and precious time for us both, especially since he was 3 mos preemie.  The time I felt most like I was taking care of him was when I was nourishing him. It didn't seem weird or anything. I look forward to the same connection with, and hope to be able to fully feed, my daughter.

As far as production, I've had gastric bypass and a 2 size breast reduction, not to mention the prematurity of my son and the fact that I "nursed" a cold pump for most of that time. I got milk (as I said, not a full supply, but enough to feed him for some time nonetheless). I think you will probably be fine,  and there are nurses,  docs, lactation consultants, and the la leche league  to help with herbs, tips, and even meds if you need them. An added bonus for you, my size didn't  change at all with my first until my milk came in. (What I did notice was a change in nipple color, size, and bumpiness during the last trimester.) When I engorged, I gained back my lost sizes (back to an F cup) and only lost one size when I lost my milk. With this one I'm already larger than I was when I bfed my son. I'm wearing a 38G and I'm afraid that when the milk comes in I won't be able to fit into the 40 H bfing bra I bought. I'm crossing  my fingers because those nursing bras can be darn expensive.

Hope everything works out for the best for you.
