glucotest test (finger stick) results good or bad???

I just tested for the third time and am wondering about my   results. I know how bad gestational diabetes can be, even though I haven't had it before. When I looked up results, I got lots of info on neonatal and maternal postnatal problems it causes, and now I'm paranoid and don't want to get it.
I found two sites which said that pregnant women testing with a fingerstick meter could be between 40 and 130 and 2hrs after eating less than 180. Most other sites were saying 95/120 were the maxs, but these  were sites for  diabetics in general. Not sure whether I should believe the pregnancy sites or the other ones.  My results came out 127 fasting 128 after eating then 105 fasting this morning, so according to the regular sites I'm high, but according to the pregnancy sites I'm ok. I'm so confused and don't want to chance that I'm giving my girl more sugar than she can handle.
Sooooo...
What numbers were your docs looking for during glucose testing? Should I tell my doc the results asap to help keep my baby safe or are the numbers I got ok?

Most like them between 70 and 110 some say up to 120 is okay for fasting.  Fasting is 12hrs with nothing but sips of water. when do you back to the OB?

Thanks for the info. My next app  isn't for almost two weeks, but I found out the monitor is bad. If my numbers are bad after  I change the monitor tomorrow, I will call the doc first thing tues.

I have been diabetic for 14 years.  It went into remission right after I had RNY and I was totally off insulin. Since I have been pregnant they put me back on a small amount of insulin to have really tight control  My high risk doc wants them under 95 for am fasting and 2 hours after meal should be below 120.  180 after a meal is way to high.  You need to have the doctor do an A1C and that will help tell you an average for the last three months...
Your numbers are horrible but depending on how far a long you are they could grow the further along you get with no help.  The sooner you get them under control the better.

I can only tell you my experience you really should talk to your doctor.  Diabetes is not something to wait around on and use information off the internet to diagnose.

Best of Luck

That was why I was asking. One site said  the numbers were ok, another said they  weren't. Doc said to wait until next visit, but I don't want to wait two weeks if my  numbers are bad. I found out it  might be a bad monitor, but I won't  know until tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

I think my monitor is defective. I did my blood sugar after lunch and got 166. Turned around and did another one immediately  and got  136. The pharmasist said to bring it  back. If I get wonky numbers after that I will call the doc first thing tuesday.  Thanks so much for the advice.

Make sure you use an alcohol wipe to clean your finger first and if you have a coded meter that you have the right code put in.  Sometimes they can be funny.  Since your numbers are not that bad you could just change some things your eat or eat smaller meals more often.

I will definately try that. I eat 4 small meals a day, (about 1 to 1 1/2 tacos at a sitting for example) but perhaps I can make it 6 and just eat a few bites at each. I don't eat much in the way of sugar, mostly milk (with some meals) and fruit (for "desert" at night about 30  mins after dinner) since I've been preggers, but I will try to take them with protein,  which I heard helps. I'm hoping the funny numbers were just because of the broken meter, but I think I'll limit sugars anyhow. Can't  be too safe when it comes to  my LO. I will also try the alcohol wipes and double check my code before testing.  I've never done all this before, so I'm not sure when I'm doing it right and when I'm not so the advice really helps.
Thanks for the great tips!
