Thanks guys! You give me hope that he won't make me feel like I am killing him by keeping him clean

Might help to have a warmed towel nearby so that when you take his diaper off or bring him to and from the tub you can keep him warm until his clothes are back on, it's the temp change that is freaking him out.

Hi Traci :)

I didn't read through the thread - sorry if someone already answered...

Rule of thumb is 2.5 oz of formula per pound ... breast milk is different, until they start on solids. When Q was 2 months old he weighed 16 lbs and ate pretty close to on target at 39 oz per day (8 bottles of 5 oz each every  hours). (I can do math he just didn't always finish his morning bottle.)

They do stop screaming at diaper changes - it seems like forever... but it won't soon. If your hubby is home try having one of you keep a warm hand on his upper body and kissing his forehead while changing - being so exposed after been so snuggled and warm is scary! Q always liked baths - but try getting in with him so he has you to comfort him until he gets the idea that it is okay and safe. I had to get in with Q for 3 solid months every single day because he cried frm 5-7:30 pm and that was the onything that instantly calmed him. He will soon love to be naked and he'll grab his penis and want to play with it. Remeber that all of this is a phase... they don't last long - and you will look back fondly on most of them. :)

Keep up the good work!!

Traci- WOW it is hard to believe its almost been a month!  It seems like yesterday!

I am clueless as to the feeding amounts but just wanted to give you some advice that my sister's pediatrician gave her with my niece b/c she screamed too during the baths.

The pediatrician recommended if you could adjust the temp in the bathroom or wherever you are bathing at, then make it warmer so the difference in water temp and outside temp are pretty close and then he recommended and I LOL'd when she told me this. But he told her to throw the hooded towel into the dryer and get it warm so after the bath, the baby stays warm.  I picked with my sister about this and I would tell my niece that these were her Fee-Fee baths lol.  My niece would laugh and coo when I would say this.  But I wish you the best with the precious angel and hope things get better with the bath and changes.

Hey Traci.
J was eating 3-4oz every 3-4 hours. My fear was(and is) I was always feeding him too much. lol

Regarding the bath - do you by chance use the net thing that goes in the bathtub? We did with J and he SCREAMED bloody murder. A friend suggested we get a sponge instead of that and it was like the angels came down to sing. The net was getting cold so quick and that is why he was screaming. Not sure about when you dress him...but he will definitely outgrow that.

Hugs,
Erika
