Hello!  If you remember I posted during my pregnancy and had my baby last October.  I did well during the pregnancy and only gained 18 pounds.  I never got the 18 pounds back off and stayed right at 170 after the baby was born.  Everyone told me that I looked better than I did before I got pregnant because I had lost too much weight so I guess the reason I never took it back off is because I didn't try.  I'm 5'9 1/2" and started out at 292 and lost down to 152 before I got pregnant so that is probably why people thought I looked too thin.

Anway, fast forward to today and I am 12 weeks pregnant with our 4th child.....2nd VSG baby !  We wanted to have our last two babies to be close together since our first two are 8 years and then the other two are 5 years apart.....it's like we have three only children right now, they are all so far apart they all just do their own thing....our last two will be 17 months apart.  I now weigh 179.  (which by the way is 27 pounds heavier than  I was before I got pregnant with my first VSG baby).

Anyway, this pregnancy so far has been so different from that last.  With the last baby I could have cared less if I ate or not.  I just ate because I knew I needed to for the baby.  This time that is all I want to do is eat.  I'm afraid that if this don't pass soon that I am going to gain much more and I am going to not be able to take it off after the baby is born.  Maybe it is just hormones or something but I am so ready to get over this.  I've got some yogurt and sugar free jello to snack on this week so that will help.  I still can't eat much at one time but when you graze all day long on junk that is not good and I know it!  When I talk about it everyone tells me that I don't need to worry about it that when I have two babies to chase I won't have any problems losing my baby weight.  The problem with that is I may get my exercise but if I'm snacking on junk then I'm sure I won't be losing.

It has been 3 1/2 years since my surgery and I just need to stop grazing, eat healthier and get my fluid in each day which I still have a BIG problem with.  I still DO NOT drink pop or anything with carbonation.  I was drinking lots of sweet tea (McDonalds) but have quit that totally, another VERY strange thing, is that tea does not taste good to me now (which is good because I don't need the caffine anyway).  I'm now drinking only water but I only drink 2-3 bottles a day and that is like pulling teeth.  I drink some milk and OJ with calcium but only about a glass a day.

Since this is our last baby, due in March, I will be back in my clothes next summer!  After the baby I would like to get back down to 155-160 and stay there.  I don't have far to go at this point but if I don't get my head on straight and nip these habits in the bud now then I will have a lot more to lose come March.  I have always said I would NEVER EVER give anyone a reason to say, she went through all of that and put it back on, what a shame.....even now that I'm writing this and reading what I'm saying I'm already looking forward to the changes I'm going to make beginning today!  I think for me it takes seeing the numbers again and putting it in the front of my mind to get me motivated and get back on track. However, ANY suggestions for healthy meals, snacks, and what you are able to drink as well as any advice is welcome and appreciated

Congrats on your pregnancy.  I hope the last few months are happy/healthy ones for you.

I'm so with you on water...I hate it.  I occasionally will slice up a peeled cucumber in it just to give it a little flavor.  It does help.  You could also try Crystal Light or some other brand of 'on-the-go' drink mixes for it.  If I drank plain water, I'd be lucky to get one cup a day down.  Blech.

Good luck!

I have to say the one thing that has helped me as far as fluids goes is the new G2 gatorades. They're lower in calories and sugar and they're actually really good- at least for me. Water was the enemy for me for awhile too, but I started drinking the country time lemonade on the go water stuff and it was yummy too. About a week ago, I was finally able to start drinking more regular plain water throughout the day. I tried Ginger ale for a bit, but the carbonation was kicking my butt i think because the gas that went along with it was almost too impossible to deal with.

I also was very very hungry throughout the last month or so, but this past week has seemed to slow down. I put together my meals for the day and make sure that if I HAVE to have a snack that I try a cheese stick or laughing cow cheese for the calcium as I'm not a milk drinker. Another good thing I've found is these great new oatmeals. The flavor I've enjoyed the most is the hazelnut latte. I make sure to eat a pack for breakfast and I find that I'm not all that hungry til around lunch time.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy! I know I too cant wait to get the weight off once the pregnancy is done. I was 289 at my highest and I got all the way down to 135, but I managed over the last 2 years to regain 40 pounds. I started at 185 with this pregnancy and I'm now at 188. I'm back to working out so I'm hoping that helps and keeps the weight gain to a minimum.

Take care! Kerri
