Just wondering what vitamins people used.  I bought prenatels today, but not sure how to add/substitute them with what I had been taking.  With my surgeon I take
2 flintstones kids vitamins,
1 calcuim w/magnesium,
1 calcium w/d,
an extra d as mine has been low (despite living in az:P,
iron,
b12,
biotin.

I also have been taking a fish oil supplement on my own (not a requirement of my dr).  I was thinking one prenatel and 1 flintstone as the prenatels are pretty much equivelent as the flintstones only 2x as much folic acid and then maybe no fish oil since it is essentially the dha so maybe that would be too much if I took them both?

What surgery did you have? Only asking because if you had RNY, you will malabsorb half of what you are taking. I had it and am TTC. This is what I take. The only thing different than always is the DHA.

Morning- one BA multi, one calcium citrate 500mg
Noon- one calcium citrate, one vit D3 1000mg
Afternoon- one DHA (Rainbow light 250 smart DHA) plan on doubling once I get preggo
Night- one prenatal
Before bed- one calcium citrate 500
Also, the monthly B-12 shot. When I get pregnant, I will ad another 500mg calcium and maybe another D3

When you take the fish oil, check to see how much DHA is actually in it. That is the ingredient that is most important but some omega 3's have very little. I did research this which is why I settled on the Rainbow Light.

Thanks for the info!  I  have vsg but my surgeon recommends the same vitamins as for rny, though I hadn't thought about their malabsorption component....

Oh good then you are not malabsorbing anything. I would still aim for  1500 mg calcium every day though.
