How do I know if I'm not ovulating?

I have been tracking my cycles for months now. Last month I used those stupid ovulation predictor sticks, and the closest it ever came to a red line was a tiny, faint pink (which the instructions say to disregard). I do get my periods on a regular basis. And I have a 12 year old. We have tried to get pregnant before with no avail, various times in the past 3 years. If I am not ovulatng, are there any signs I should be looking for? Are there any herbs to kick-start ovulation? What is the next step, for others who have gone through this? Thanks in advance!

The best way to track for ovulation is by temperature.  BBT is more accurate than some ovulation predictor kit.

As far as the herbs go..... I am over on SoulCysters.com, come join if you have PCOS. Any way there are alot of women that take all sorts of different herbal supplements. I started taking Vitex and at one point was taking Maca to get my cycles regular. Haven't O'd yet that I know of. lol
I usually have some type of sign like sore nipps, ovary twinges or ewcm then once I experience one of those I'll do an OPK and they are always +. But that hasn't happened. I have tested here and there but haven't got a + yet. SOOOO anyway sometimes Vitex and Maca, or either or work for some people, and some people it doesn't. But I also think it takes time for some. I've been on Vitex for about 3 months thus far. I stopped taking the Maca because, well just because! lol
Good luck!  Jules

Chelle, I remember when I was going through infertility treatment about 4-5 years ago my doctor would perform a "progestrone test" I believe was the 21st or 24th (can't remember) to determine if I ovulated. Perhaps you can have this test done. It detects through a simple blood test a hormone level that says if ovulation took place. I know it's after the fact, but you can at least have this test to make sure your body is doing what it's suppose to do. Good luck sweetie and I hope you find the answers you need.

Temperature taking is the best way to know if you're ovulating.  When I went to my MD, I showed him my charts and he put me on Clomid.  So far I have ovulated all 3 cycles I have taken it.  As far as herbs, I'm not sure about that.

I *highly* recommend reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".  I have 4 kids (and PCOS) and that book was a lifesaver for me.  Clomid, for me, was what it took with 3 out of 4 kids.  Good luck.  You're welcome to message me if you want any advice or just to vent. :)
