I can't even imagine having to go back to work at 6 weeks post partum. It is awful for those Moms and Dads.

No kidding! I'm having a hell of a time deciding if I'm going back or not. I have 3 weeks left. Officially, i was supposed to give notice last week if I wasn't going back. i haven't even looked into daycare yet!

Well to give you an idea of the time I've had off. I went on leave August 1, 2009. I had Alex Sept 6, 2009. I go back to work Sept 13, 2010! LOL

The company I work for offers shor term disablilty, in which you get 6 weeks for normal delivery and 8 weeks for c-section delivery at about 60% of your wages paid. They also offer FMLA 12 weeks unpaid, which you can use jointly with your short term. Everywhere I have ever worked offers both these benefits. Hope this helps.
