First Pregnancy post WLS?
I am over a year out from my RNY and I am pregnant :). I was wondering if there were any other RNYs out here who have become pregnant since their surgery? I just want to know how your pregnancy went, if you had any issues, if there was anything you would have done differently. I appreciate any and all advice and stories you all can share.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I got pregnant accidentally 3 months after my bypass, while on Nuvaring. It was my first time doing anything with my husband post-op, and consequently, the last time anything happened as well! I have had absolutely no issues to speak of. I am due with surprise baby #4 next month. I've been getting my full labs checked every 3 months and everything is looking perfect. I compensated for the vitamins I knew baby with suck out of me by adding more in, such as iron, folic acid, and calcium. Aside from dumping syndrome being much worse the first 12 weeks, nothing else is different. I think as long as you make sure to take your vitamin regimen flawlessly, you should be ok, as long as you have no underlying issues with vitamin deficiency already.
I had RNY August 2005. I've never been pregnant before, this is my first (and last). I'm 29 weeks today, and everything going just as good as someone who never had RNY.
