Losing weight. Any suggestions?

Prior to finding about this surprise pregnancy, I had been in a 2 month stall, so it's frustrating that NOW that I'm pregnant I can't stop loosing weight.
I'm currently eating 1800-2200 calories a day, eating every 3 hours. I'm consuming full fat cheese/ salad dressing, bacon, whole milk, nuts (even ice cream cookies and candy on occasion)... using butter and olive oil when I cook, AND still I'm loosing 3-4 lbs a week. I'm 10 months out from VSG, with a loss of 130lbs and my weight was pretty much stabilized since I was nearly at my goal.
At first I blamed my morning sickness, but that was pretty much gone by 9 weeks and I'm still loosing. My OB wants to see a gain at my 16 week visit and I'm trying, but it seems impossible to consume any more especially since my surgery has made it to where I'm almost never hungry. I literally have to force myself to eat every 3 hours.

My question is- can some of you post your daily food intake?
Do you have any suggestions for getting more healthy calories into my diet? (other than a pint of ice cream)

(Sorry if this sounds whiny, but I'm starting to get concerned.)

I had a different surgery than you, but I recently had the same discussion with my OB, because I have lost 8 pounds since becoming pregnant. I'm about 12 pounds from my goal weight. I'm 15 weeks.

I was concerned that I am eating more than usual (and full-fat foods, too), and STILL losing weight. She told me that gaining weight during pregnancy is a misconception, unless you're UNDERweight. Overweight women only need to gain 10-15 pounds for the duration of the entire pregnancy... and she said not to worry, that as the baby grows, the weight will come on without even trying.

Personally I lost about 80 pounds while I was pregnant but only because I was SO early post op. I kept a food journal and made sure I was getting my water, protein, calcium, and vitamins in every day and never did end up gaining but I never did get scolded for it either. My OB didn't require me to gain any weight while I was pregnant because I had a BMI of 38 and she wanted me to keep losing but at the same time make sure baby was getting exactly what she needed to be healthy. Anberlin was born at 9lbs 5oz and I weighed 285 at the time. Within about 1 mo I dropped to about 240 and now 8 mo later I am at 200.

You can try to eat every 1 1/2 hours and see if that helps. My OB was from the school of thought that if you had it to loose it was OK to keep loosing during the entire pregnancy. Iost 15 pounds in the first trimester, gained it back in the 2nd and ended up gaining 24 pounds total. I was 13 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight 2 weeks after she was born and have rebounded about 8 pounds since then.

I was eating everything I could that was not "WLS" friendly. I was doing all the things you are. Butter, full fat cheese etc.

Good luck!

I just wanted to say I can completely relate !!! My first pregnancy was also a twin pregnancy pre-WLS & I was early post-op VSG when I found out about this surprise pregnancy. I was right @ my goal weight of 155 pounds when I got pregnant. My OB said that he wasn't worried about me gaining weight in the beginning as long as baby was growing/measuring well & I didn't lose any weight (because my BMI is "normal"). Well, baby has been measuring great, but I started losing. He told me to drink Ensure...Seriously ??? Yuck !!! I already had morning sickness. There was no way I could keep that stuff down. Now, my favorite things to snack on are cheese cubes, peanut butter (on crackers, bananas, apples, etc), granola bars, cashews, & peanuts. I also drink powerade/gatorade because I have a really hard time getting enough fluid in. I may get 36 ounces in a day. I could drink more, but then I'm too full to eat. My Dr. says he's more worried about the protein & calories than he is the fluids. It does ease my mind that the baby is growing well, but I feel so guilty like I should be doing more. I hope things get better for you !!! : )

I was six months post surgery with RNY when I got pregnant. I was right at my goal weight of 147 lbs when I found out. I lost almost 8 lbs in the first month. I started seeing my NUT and I started doing just what you are. I didn't gain any weight until I was almost 20 weeks. Then it was like BAM and I have gained total at this point 27lbs. I am currently 34 and 1/2 weeks. This is ok with everyone including my OB and surgeon. I was worried because it feels like it came on so fast. But they all said it is fine. I have heard other WLS pt's say the same thing with their pregnancies. Don't worry too much. Just focus on getting in the correct amount protein, calcium...and you should be fine. I went from worrying because the scale was going down to worrying because it's going up, and up and up.
