breastfeeding a teething baby?????
Noah is 6 months old, has two teeth and is using me as a teething ring. I don't really want to stop breastfeeding because of this, but I can't keep on being bit. This has been going on for almost two weeks now. The only thing I can do to get him to stop is push his head into my breast so far that he has to open his mouth to breath.
I'm open to all suggestions!
Thanks,
Amy

I got very lucky with my 2. They were more interested with nursing then biting. My mom told me that she was nursing me and I bit her so hard it drew blood, her first reaction was to smack my mouth! Well after I cried for about 20 minutes, I never did it again she said. I would not suggest that though

Yah Amy I have a BITER too!! She started about 2-3 weeks ago when that second tooth started coming in. She bit me soooo hard I bled!! It hurt for days like a week to be exact!! I was told to flik her in the nose softly but to get her attention. I dunno what to do, the only time she won't bite is when I take her up to her dark room and no sounds. So if you have a magical way to get them to stop biting let me know!!!

H was a crazy biter. I would use the technique you described to get her to release and then in the mean mommy voice say "no biting, that hurts mommy" and sit her on the floor. She would cry and want comforted after about 45 seconds or so, I would pick her back up and tell her not to bite and then let her finish nursing. This went on for a time, but she eventually quite biting.
God Bless! Jen
