Ultrasound Tomorrow

Hey Ladies,

My u/s was to be on the 25th of this month but I was on the cancellation list.  They called today and they can fit me in tomorrow mid morning.  I am so scared.  This is a viability scan due to the 2 previous mc's.  Also here in Canada they won't tell me a thing at this scan.  I have to wait until my Dr receives the results....so that means I won't hear anything until Thursday or Friday at the earliest.  I am hoping I won't have to wait over the weekend for the results.  I am a boarderline basket case right now.  I am sooo afraid of another blighted ovum or a fetus with no hb.  I wish I knew someone with a good doppler to loan me or better yet someone in a private office with an u/s machine (I'd be in daily checking, why can't we just have windows installed....LOL)  Praying that everything is good and yes I probably will never relax until my Soy Bean is in my arms.  I am hoping that this Progesterone is working and the Metformin as well.  I want to be excited but it is so hard and I feel disconnected from this pregnancy because I don't want to get my hopes up.  It is so hard to relax, so many things are going through my mind and the fact that I have no real symptoms makes it harder.  Also I want to tell everyone, but I am so scared of jinxing things.  Am I making any sense at all?  We are considering the 12-13 week scan, just so that I can see my Bean, the Dr told me that if I get this scan and something comes back abnormal then I have to have the amnio.  I don't want the amnio by any means, but if I tell him that he won't send me for that scan, I will have to wait for the 18-20 week one.  I don't think I can hold out that long.  This is all providing that things come back good from this scan this week.

Please Pray for Us and Wish us Luck.  I am so scared.

I totally understand where you're coming from.  God willing, you'll get good results at the u/s....and maybe a good tech to at least let you hear the hb if they won't tell you anything else.  Call your dr as soon as you're done and ask them to get the results to you as soon as possible...explain to them how stressed you are because of your history.  Hopefully your dr's understanding and will cooperate a little.

How close are you to the U.S. border?  Close enough you could skip across the border to one of the malls that have the u/s places in the mall?  Just to get your u/s fix?  LOL

Let us know how it goes...and maybe when you go for hte u/s, explain your history to the tech and see if they'll have sympathy enough to show the hb and/or at least let you see your little one on the u/s.

OMG they have them in the mall?  I do not live that close 4-6 hrs away from the border.  Now I am thinking of moving for the next few months...LOL  J/K!!!  I tried pleading with the tech my last pregnancy and nada, tight lipped those people are!!!  Knowing me I will try!!!

Try different labs btw.  If a tech at one lab is tight lipped.. make your next appt at a different lab.  We have one lab near me that wont even talk to you at all!  I hated that one. 

I am going to a different lab this time.  But what I understand is they are all the same.

 They are all the same in the sense that they won't tell you if they see anything wrong.  But you will know by their demeanor and stuff if everything is okay and what not.  :)  They just take certain measurements and pictures and then a Radiologist reviews the chart and pictures.  They aren't radiologists, so they aren't allowed by law to discuss.. some will say "You don't have anything to worry about"  without actually saying that. 

 When I went for my first u/s (dating/viability) I was just over 7weeks.  Thankfully, I had a very nice tech who showed me my peanut and the flickering heart and even tried to listen to the heartbeat!  Hopefully, you'll have a great scan and have a similar experience.  

Also, I did the IPS screen only to be able to see my peanut again.  I didnt really care about the results.  I just thought that waiting until 20 weeks was way too long!  

I totally agree that waiting until 20 weeks is WAY too long!!!

I totally understand about not seeing anything. After a missed MC and bilghted ovum, I never though I would see a beating heart. But there it was beating away. I am praying for you Sherry Lynn. I just feel bad that they wont let you see your bean. Thats messed up. I hope Tabetha is right and you get a great tech. Please keep us posted!

OOOH look at you, 1/2 way through.  Congrats.  How are you feeling?  I have no symptoms except tender nips (more so the left one all the time) off and on.  Other than that nothing!!!  That worries me too.  Is it too late to pray for ms?   Haven't gained anything, this pregnancy is so different from the last two.
