I know we are supposed to wait at least 12 months before getting pregnant, but I am curious how far out you were when you got pregnant. I am currently 38 years old. Had surgery in April. Have lost 60 lbs. Surgeon wants me to lose another 60. Waiting until I am a year out will make me 39 before I can start trying. I tried for 8 years to get pregnant before WLS and am afraid it will take months of trying before it happens putting me in my 40s.
Thanks
Thanks

True about lots of people having babies in their 40s. Guess I need to be more positive. Thanks
I was 12 months out exactly and down 130 pounds when I found out I was pregnant.
Although it has happened, it is not wise at all to get pregnant before the recommended time. Your body is in malnutrition mode. Take care of yourself first!
I had suffered infertility for 12 years. After surgery it took us 1 try to get pregnant with my son and 1 try to get pregnant with my daughter. I am 36 years old.

Congrad on your weight loss and pregnancy and for the good advice.
2 1/2 years for me. Surgery and pregnancy are each very hard on your body exclusively - together they can be really rough. Now there are PLENTY of people who do get preggo early out and have perfect pregnancies and babies - ther are also lots that don't.
I'd talk to all Drs involved, OB, Surgeon, Nurtritionist and see what they say, they will all be involved ultimately anyway.
I was told at an early age that children wouldn't be a possibility because of PCOS with IR. Well I proved them wrong and I have my surgery and being 150 pounds lighter to thank for that
