Teething at 4 mos.
shes right.. it does work for a few mins anyway.. but it makes their gums hard and there for the tooth have a hard time passing... if all these other options fail .. you can always give him some tylenol... i 2nd the hylands and the mesh feeder... you can even put a regular non-frozen banana in it... ive also washed off a carrot and handed it to jaylyn.. its hard and since there are no teeth he wont get a chunk off
During the day the teething tabs can help, but at night I would use some tylenol so he can get some rest, double check with your pediatrician about the appropriate dose.
I don't see bendryl doing anything at all, it's an antihistamine, it isn't going to help with pain or inflammation.
This will last until these first teeth come in, and then when the next batch comes in it will start all over.

Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
My daughter had a couple of those teething rings that vibrate when she bit down on it. They were a big help. You can get them at babies r us or walmart and they are about $7 each. You probably have to hold it for him since the batteries make it a little heavy and he is younger. They were great though.
He is kind of young for food, so I personally would avoid the munchkin (although its great when they are bigger). I love the Hylands, and then like Dev said I did Tylenol at night if the pain was causing lost sleep, but honestly he is pretty young and this can go on for a VERY long time before those first few teeth pop though, so I would stick with the natural stuff. If he does not seem like he is in pain, then I would just let him be, it is a totally normal thing for babies to put things in their mouth or chew on them, even when they are NOT teething.
