Teething at 4 mos.

Hi guys,

Life has been crazy busy. Jakob will be 4 mos. on Saturday and he is already teething. He has had low grade fever (all last weekend) and is drooling and trying to gnaw on anything he can get to his mouth. I have gotten him a teething ring which is put in the freezer, he doesn't really like it. He likes more than anything my pinky in the middle of his paci to chew on. Does anyonehave any other teething suggestions for me? He is very irratable and cries a lot more than he has prior to this teething episode. How long will this last, until all his teeth come in or just the first ones? Thanks again.

My mother in law told me to freeze the washcloth and he didn't like it (I don't think he likes the whole frozen temp thing) I'll try just a cold one though. Thanks.

You aren't really supposed to freeze teething rings and wash cloths, just put them in the fridge. Freezing is usually too cold.

Yes Bella started teething at 4 months or so but no teeth till 6 months. I really like teething tablets. They have teething gel but I liked oragel better.

I also LOVED putting frozen banana's in a food pacifer. It's cold and yummy but it has a handle.

Bella LOVED this and still does!! Her Pedi recommended it. Also he may get loose stool and a diaper rash. I used Lotrimin. Teething SUCKS!!!!

Please don't laugh at me but I've never heard of a food pacifier before, is that the picture of it? Does he just chew on it, or does the food actually come out? Where do you get them?

It's munchkin walmart should have it and target. Yah just cut up little peices of banana put it in a ziplock and freeze it. Then take out and put it in the feeder and let him chew on it until it get mushy then take it away or add more. THe handle doesn't get cold so Bella liked that!!!

Just a little food for thought:

I was advised by my dentist to never use baby Orajel because it is sugar based and that sugar is very hard on a brand new baby tooth when it finally pokes through.

My mother in law told me not to use the orajel unless the doctor told me specifically to use it. She suggested rubbing a tiny bit of the baby benadryl on the gums which I haven't done (I usually run any medicine by his doc's office first since he has severe acid reflux and is on medicine for it as well as very bady eczema)
