Does your crib mattress fit snuggly in your crib?
I just put up Mattys crib and got the mattress today, when I put it in the crib there is a little gap between the mattress and the crib wall, is that ok? I seem to remember the triplets mattress being almost snug in the crib frame, it is a standard size crib and standard size mattress, so it should be right, but it just does not look right to me. I could be completely wrong though, so I thought I would check with you guys before I return the mattress.
Thanks for your input! That is actually the reason I remember the triplets being snug, I remeber having to change sheets in the middle of the night or all three on laundry day and it was a PAIN b/c getting the mattress up was hard! I don't think this gap is big enough for Matty to fit into or anything, but I like to go by the "better safe then sorry" rule. I was just worried that this was a "new" thing since it's been almost 8 years since I put the triplets in cribs, and that even if I returned this mattress, the next one would be the same.
THere is maybe a 1/2" gap around Amelia's. Her's is about 15 years old though (it's a hand-me-down). I just put the bumper on the crib and tuck it down a little bit between the mattress and the spindles of the crib. It is a total pain to change the sheet though because I have to take the bumper off and everything. Someone suggested to me that you put a sheet on, put down one of those waterproof pads (or 2 next to eachother) then put another sheet on top so for those middle of the night sheet changes you can just pull the top one and the pads off and you are good to go.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Thanks so much! That is exactly what I was thinking about doing with the bumper, but I figured since I just bought the darn thing I could still return it to get the right thing, problem is, I just looked at the measurments and they are ALL the same, so it seems that no matter which one I order there is going to be a gap. Maybe I will put on like four sets of sheets, fill up the gap that way LOL
Nope, its a brand new crib, just took it out of the box on Sat, and the mattress is brand new too! Ugh, I just looked at all the mattress that they have and they all measure the same size, so they are all going to cause a small gap in this crib. Matty is almost one, so he is not a tiny baby, I just am afriad the he will get his arm or leg caught.
GRR, isn't this supposed to be the easy part. LOL
