just searching for some advice and support

Hi,
I'm 2 1/2/ years post surgery and I'm maintaing my weight.  I just got remarried this pass Feb and we are trying to get pregnant now.  Its been so long since I had my son (19yrs) that it feels like this is my first.  I'm a little scare because I'm afraid to gain the weight back or that I'm not going to loose the weight after.  I had the IUD for 3 yrs and I just had it removed about 3 weeks ago and all I can think is how long it will take for me to get pregnant.  I do remember that with my son I got pregnant very fast.
I take my vitamins everyday and try to eat healthy but my fears are still there.  I been reading your posts and so far it makes me feel better because I have found lots of good information here. 
I know that we are all different but for those that had the IUD how long did it take you to get pregnant after it was removed?

I had a Mirena IUD for 4 years. Had it removed 09/29/09 because the side effects were really starting to bother me...anyway....we weren't "trying" to get pregnant, but weren't doing anything to prevent it either. I got pregnant 02/03/10. Oh-after having the IUD removed, my first period was about 4 weeks later. They were right back to regular schedule after that.

I was 36 at the time, if that matters.

If you're taking a good multi-vitamin with at least 400 folic acid, you should be okay. No, or little, drinking/smoking would be a good idea too.

I'm 37 and I do take folic acid and prenetal vitamins.  I don't drink or smoke so from that part I don't have to worried.  Most people I talk to their period stop once they put the IUD, me not that lucky I still had my periods every month on the date.

After I got my IUD my periods kept getting lighter and lighter until after about 4 months they stopped completely. That was the best part!
