Bella has been having issues passing gas, she seems to be in terrible pain trying to get those little suckers out, shes passed the normal red face and grunting and now has that and is screaming bloody murder trying to pass gas. She gets the hiccups at almost every feeding and i read that this could be the issue for the extra gas as shes gulping in extra air while hiccuping, well I did research and kept reading great things about Gripe Water. I went out and bought some (the little tummies brand) and OMG it worked almost instantly!
I gave it to her at the first sign of struggling with passing gas and almost instantly she was "tooting" and burping AND SMILING lol

OK so i obviously LOVE the stuff, BUT i was wondering, first has anyone else used it with extended success? AND has anyone used it more then the 6x per 24 hour period that is recommended on the box?! Any issues? It says its all natural and pediatrician recommended, so i dont see the issue with using it more often, but dont want to do anything that might hurt baby!
She of course eats much more often than 6x per 24 hour period, and is suffering after almost every feeding =/  I just hate that she can have relief only SOME of the time and i have to see her in pain the rest of the times.

also, I EBF and have made the necessary adjustments to my diet in order to help with this issue as much as possible for a few days now and i haven't seen a change with that alone.
We are also practicing "toes to nose" exercises and "bicycles" with her little legs...that coupled with the gripe water is all that seems to help!

any help/advice would be great!!
thanks in advance,

Blanca

My daughter had horrible Colic & I loved Gripe Water !!! Since her episodes were mostly @ night, we only used it 3-4 times in a day. Does she respond at all to regular gas drops (Simethicone) ??? It's safe to use with every feeding which I did with both of my little ones. This helps especially if you're breastfeeding & eat gassy foods. I pumped for 6 wks while mine were in the NICU. So, I never knew what I had eaten when I pumped each particular bag of milk. So, I gave them gas drops with each feeding just prophylactic. Wishing you the best : )

Please be careful with how much you give her, little babies should not have much liquid beyond breastmilk and forumla b/c it can cause an electrolyte imbalance.

Jakob has reflux and gas REALLY bad and he takes a combination of mylicon and the gripe water. Typically I use the gripe water for hiccups and if the gas gets really bad between feedings.
