Punkin Update!
Punkin is a chunk! It is measuring in at 4 pounds (Ok, it was 3 pounds 15 ounces). We saw these chunky little arms and legs on Friday. The U/S tech pointed them out to us. More pics of chunky little cheeks. Only problem is that Punkin is breech (and with a stubborn Mom and Dad, will prolly continue to be so) and faces my spine. Not sure how the kid will come out since I went to an epidural class and I am even more scared to get one now. I was told to talk to an anesthesiologist one on one and see if that helps. Not sure why I am a scared. I just have a feeling that I shouldn't get one. We don't have that many pics this time since it did not want to cooperate. Don't hold your breath to see them soon since I still have the last two months to scan in.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Hope the baby flips for you! Just so you know, I am the BIGGEST baby when it comes to all things medical and the epidural was WAY easier than getting the IV put in, hands down.

I totally understand where you are coming from! I was scared to death to have an epi - 2 out of 3 of my deliveries involved an epidural - Karen is right, the IV was worse! LOL! For me I was scared of the unknown - man that is a scary @ss needle! I survived :)
When Carter was breech I was a wreck. I didn't want a c-section - period. I found out at 34 weeks. He still hadn't turned by 36, but did by 37. I think it was all my handstands in the swimming pool :P

I think people get anxious about epi- but they are such a godsend. It really wasn't bad, and I have had two. And it's fabulous once it is working. There are other pain relief options and you could always try nothing, but I wouldn't think too much about it- it will cause you to worry even more! I'm glad the baby is chunky, and don't worry about breech yet, you still have a while! Good luck.

oh sweetie, dont let folks get you scared about the epidural...IT WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND!!
I went into labor naturally at first, and I usually have a very very high pain tolerance...OMG not like that!! As soon as I got to about 6cmm...I was BEGGING for the epidural. The dr came in was explaining everything to me, all I could think was STOP TELLING ME ALL THE PRO vs. CONS AND DO THE DAMN THING ALREADY!!
As soon as I felt those little "bee sting" shots to do the numbing...I knew it was on...next think I know, I HAVE NO PAIN!! It was WONDERFUL!! Ended up having to have a spinal and a csection but....would have an epi in a heartbeat again if need be.
And regardless of what other say, there is no difference in getting an epi vs natural birth...if you have all that pain, you dont get a trophy or tiara at the end...both ways you win a beautiful little baby.....so why torture yourself and have your little one born into a tense enviornment?
