RANT- Stupid girl!!

This girl I went to high school with is pregnant.  This is her current status on Facebook....

I Heard And Felt My Baby Blowing Bubbles This Morning In My Belly It Was Amazing!! And So Awesome To Hear That Sound Iam 14 Weeks And I Day And Already Heard/Felt Bubbles And No It Wasnt Gas! Iam Sure Of It I Know What I Heard And Felt And It Was My Little Baby :) Me Being In The Second Trimester Iam Going To Be Feelin...g/Hearing Alot Of Things! Which I Cant Wait To Experience!!!

OMG are people retarded?!?!  this chick is 25 yrs old and thinks she can HEAR an unborn baby...blowing bubbles?  wow.  And I guess SOME ppl can feel their baby at 14 weeks but I couldn't until 19-20.

Maybe she has a home doppler? 

Some women feel the baby way early- like 12 weeks- just because you didn't doesn't mean she can't feel the baby move. And so what if you don't like her facebook status? She's obviously excited about her pregnancy. Good for her, it's a shame she has negative people like you in her life.

It seems really harsh of you to call her "retarded" and "stupid"... what goes around comes around. 

I'm pretty positive she does not have a doppler.  She said she "heard the baby blowing bubbles."  Not possible.  And she could have felt the baby move, I didn't say she couldn't.  This is the same girl sitting in a hot tub at 10 weeks pregnant and drinking "just a glass" of wine at 8 weeks.

I am not negative generally, but I am amazed by her stupidity.  Yes.  Stupidity.  You CANNOT hear your baby in your uterus.

Lol. Maybe she heard her baby's bubble blowing as they came out her ass. Just by what you quoted of her, she sounds a bit ditsy and immature.

So what if it was gas, is it really hurting anything or anybody that she is sure she felt and heard her baby blowing bubbles? It probably made her day and gave her something to smile about. Let her enjoy her pregnancy and her experiences :)

It can be frustrating when people seem so obtuse. The woman I used to babysit for was going to college to be a doctor, and kept bragging to everyone how her 3 week old was trying to walk already. I told her this was the stepping reflex that is automatic, but she was insistent that her baby would be walking within months.

It's silly.  I may sound like a ***** but for real, she also thought she had a baby bump at 4 weeks.

Normally I wouldn't respond, but lately there has been some negativity and pointless criticism that are, well, unkind and immature. When new board members and lurkers read posts of this nature, it encourages them to keep quiet and it deters them from posting their questions and issues for fear they will be the topic of a post titled RANT - stupid girl!!

Why do you care what this lady posted? I think it's great that she's so excited! And, NO ONE is born knowing how to do these things ... just recently YOU have posted about a) not knowing how to get a diaphragm fit b) getting false positives on generic pregnancy tests and using brand names for accuracy and c) not knowing that you could keep a baby rear facing for more than a year. Does not knowing these things make you "retarded"? Nope. Makes you a first time momma, just trying to do your best, learn as your family grows, and be a good mom.

Flaming this woman for not knowing that the bubbles she heard probably is gas is, well, severe and not kind.

Before anyone goes postal (and I can almost pinpoint exactly who will share their differing opinions with me), I want to state that my point is that I would encourage anyone posting to try to remain constructive and positive. I like to think that we are all adults here who would conduct themselves in a manner that is supportive and appropriate. Before posting, ask your self what the point if your post is. Venomous posts like this do not, I believe, serve much of a purpose.

I am not trying to cause problems with ppl on this board.  I don't know everything.  No one does.  But a grown woman should know you cannot hear your unborn child in the womb.  Thus the point of the post.
