Does anyone have any personal stories or know anything about misdiagnosed blighted ova?

Yes, unfortunately they are quite common.  As for the mis-diagnosis...not often :(  I know that's not what you want to hear.  I have had 2.  Both times, I was praying for it to be a mis-diagnosis.  They weren't.  But, keep the faith, you might be that one special one!!  I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

My hcG went up from 32,000 on Monday to 56,000 today. So, there's reason to be optimistic. If it really were a blighted ovum, it wouldn't be rising, and even if it did, It wouldn't be that high. So, I'm going to stay optimisti****il my next u/s!

got pregnant last April and had the full run of symptoms, at my 11 appt when they did the ultrasound there was nothing there, blighted ovum. My body hadn't caught on and I had to have a D&E. Good news is  was given the go ahead to TTC in July and got pregnant in August with a completly healthy little girl.
