Vent: Pregnancy early post-op

I have seen posts where people put "oops" but, never have I seen anyone as early as 8 weeks or lest post op TRYING to get pregnant.  Just because someone is experiencing "baby fever" and posting about their excitement doesnt mean they are trying to get pregnant.

With that being said, I am one of those early post op pregnancies... I had baby fever...I even posted Im sure about my excitement to have a family in the FUTURE at one point.  But, I did go about things the right way.  I am an RNY patient, and HAD PCOS. but...I didnt have absorption issues, had hit my goal and was (in my drs own words) "the poster child for RNY".  I went to see him, my family dr, OBGYN and a NUT to basically ASK permission for when my husband and I could start trying....the verdict (because the chances were so highly unlikely that we would conceive without IVF due to my husbands past testicular cancer, and my own history) we were cleard to "try" @ 9 months post op.  I was actually going to a fertility clinic doing all the prelim. stuff....and was supposed to wait until my next cycle to start injections....

well GOD had other plans....and I saved thousands of dollars on fertility treatments, because he BLESSED me with my beautiful little Claudia!

Do I regret getting pregnant so early out?  No
Did I reach my goal weight?  yes and then some....
If I could change things would I ?  HECKS NO!

I say to each his own, yes we are warned, but when push comes to shove...I am the one that has to live this life and deal with my own trials and tribulations....no one else....

to each her own.

I *really* don't understand 1) why it is any of your business when another woman gets pregnant; by choice or otherwise, 2) why you care about "unresponsible" people, 3) when you were put in the place to be the judge, 4) how you see creating a life as a waste of surgery, 5) why you are concerned about peoples weight loss after they had a baby in the first year, 6) if it really bothers you, stop coming to the board.

Did it ever occur to you that someone may have this surgery to have babies and that their goal was pregnancy over weight loss?  Oh yeah, you did state that .. but your post is so contradictory to the actual reality of having the surgery to have a baby.

God Bless! Jen

Actually Jen, if you'd read this thread carefully, you'd see that Tabetha herself had WLS to increase her chances of having a baby too. So I would think that yes, it did occur to her that some people had WLS to achieve a baby goal. I think you're missing her point. . .

I'm with you Andrea.  I'm not quite sure what people don't get about this post.
