Vent: Pregnancy early post-op
I Also didn't see her post as bitter or vicious. She is stating her opinion about people trying to get preggo early out - not he ones that happen by accident. I didn't see her suggest abortion anywhere in her post (I am pre-occupied a bit by the infant on my lap so maybe I missed it).
I'm not looking for a debate but Unfortunately several of the posts of yours (lately, again I am pre-occupied with a beautiful little girl) are criticism of other people who are expressing their opinions.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of RNY we DO mal-absorb (it's how the surgery works) so we have to be extra careful with our vitamins, food intake etc. I was very compliant and still ended up with my iron and B12 in the toilet after delivery.
Who would think that something rated "99.9% effective" would be wrong?!?

Tabetha-
I totally agree. BUT, why do I care? The only reason why I really care is because I have PCOS. Was with my bf/dh since I was 15 and never concieved the whole time before surgery, and haven't had luck since I've had surgery and I'm 2yr 5months out. And the first year I was really really careful. Made sure we were using condoms every single time. I got birth control. And I even went to get an IUD put in (which didn't work out too well, I ended up leaving without one in, and not by my choice).
So basically I guess I'm just jealous.
But as the previous poster said, there are some cases where they were being careful and still got pregnant. So I don't think this post apply's to that type of situation. And I have seen women being excited, wanting to get pregnant early after surgery despite what the risks are.

Yeah, it was a little painful, I'm guessing because I have never had a baby. I wish I could remember what she said was up there. Something about a blockage in my cervix that was way up there. And every time she would push the IUD up or try to get it in the right position this thing would be right infront of it. And I guess was causing the IUD to not go where it needed to be. I was really worried that, that blockage would cause future TTC problems. But she said they go away on thier own. UGH, who the freak knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a c-section so when I went for my IUD im guessing it would have felt the same way. He tried for about 20 minutes (felt like an ETERNITY) and said that every time he tried to pu**** into the cervix it wanted to poke through the wall so he told me that i couldn't have one. The thing that sucks for me is that because I had to have the Rx filled at a pharmacy and then bring it to him it cost me $$$$ for nothing!
I think everyone is entitled to an opinion ...however, I do not agree with you. I see so many people on here that had PCOS or other fertility issues so for them, getting pregnant was not an option before surgery. After surgery they may not have thought as much about getting pregnant under the assumption it just could not happen for them. & if they do get pregnant, by choice or not, who cares? You do not have to raise that baby or counsel that mother. I am sure they will get enough grief from their doctors.
I am 16 months out and pregnant. My doctor told me to go ahead. He said I was perfectly healthy (and I was before surgery, besides my weight, I had no issues- no high blood pressure, nothing). So he told me I was at a good weight and I could go ahead and get pregnant before my husband deploys. He told me he wants me to aim at gaining 35lbs, but he said if I don't, he will not sweat about it. He will keep good watch over me and the baby and has me on enough vitamins so he is not worried about anything.
People CAN have WLS and still have a healthy baby.
Shi* happens- everyday. We can't change it and it is not worth stressing over.

This is going to be a blanket reply to everyone because I'm on my cell phone.
In my original post I did state that there are always exceptions. It wasn't directed at those who were/are careful or were given the okay that they could TTC by their doctors.
I also have fertility issues, I suffer from PCOS and of the 12+ years I have been with my husband, Alex is/was my only pregnancy. We never used birth control until after my surgery. But I did my research and even though I thought I wouldn't be one of the statistics since we NEVER once got a BFP I still listened to those that spent years in school learning about this stuff and went on birth control. In fact the one month I missed changing my patch on time is the month I got pregnant.
So yes. Accidents do happen unintentionally but I read more often than not stories of those who just didn't Bother to even prevent it. That's who this vent was more or less directed at.
