Some common terms:

TTC - trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD - the day of your menstrual cycle
O - ovulation
DPO - days past ovulation
LP - luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF - aunt flow ( your period)
PG - pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE - reproductive endocrinologist
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
CL - coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met - metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD - baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD - doing the deed
IUI - inter uterine insemination
IVF - in vitro fertilization
PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS - pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW - two week wait...time from ovulation until you can test for pg

My husband, Kevin, and I were TTC for 13 YEARS (since 11-1996) , we finally got out positive this year. (16 weeks pg now). I also have PCOS... So have faith...

Congrats Christina and thanks for sharing your story! It is awesome to know there are success stories after long term ttc. For myself it was 5 years, but the feelings and emotions are the same, and that is why I post this thread. Good luck in your pg and feel free to come support our ttc'rs...you know how it feels!

Sherry-Lynn, is everything Ok now? did you go back for more betas? I've been worried since you didn't post anything after the last beta that had you concerned...  I'm hoping by your ticker that all is well?

hi everyone. good luck TTC. I start Artifical Insemination on 15th of August so fingers crossed and wish me luck. its been a long time since i was last pregnant, my daughter just turned 18 years old, lol, dont i feel old some times, but im only 38 so hopefully NOT to old. i'll keep you all updated. hopefully i'll have good news to share.
