Question On Vitamins.
I was curious to know if anyone is taking prenatal vitamins and all of the other vitamins we are suppose to take normally for the rest of our lives after the WLS? Odd thing is the reason I am asking is because my Ob knows of all the vitamins I am taking currently but has not yet prescribed me any prenatal vitamins. I know they asked me if I am taking my vitamins that I normally do and I said I switched everything to chewables cause to swallow the vitamins I had before I was getting sick and they were coming back up..which was soo gross. However, cause she was so busy the day I was there...I had such a quick visit..and she prescribed me the nausea pills but has not prescribed any prenatals yet. Im just wondering if that is because I am taking so many vitamins as it is that she doesnt seem to think I need them...and does anyone else take the prenatals plus all the other ones?
This is what I currently take, and when I called my OB's office, they said to continue with it and just bring in the multiples bottle at my appt, which I dont even have scheduled but would be the end of August
2- Celebrate Chewable Multivitamins (400mcg folic acid in each so 800mcg daily)
2- Vitalady Tender Iron Capsules (each 60mg elemental iron)
6- Calcium Citrate (250mg each)
2- Bio-Tech Dry Vitamin D-3 5000iu (10,000 iu total daily... and my #s finally went up after 6 months)
1- B12 (1000mcg.. my level is now 999 so I'm not going to take it every day anymore)
1- B6 (50mg I think)

I would add a DHA as soon as you can stomach it. Recent studies are showing how important it is especially early in pregnancy when the babies brains and organs are mostly made of fatty substances. Target has a brand that is fish-free and I just ordered a few bottles of Rainbow Light DHA, has 250 mg per capsule, which I plan on doubling daily once I get pregnant :) So far, no fish smell or burps.
