I'm SOOO excited!!! My Husband and I find out the sex of our little miracle on August 25th! My parents are driving up to be at the ultrasound also. My Dad is convinced it's a girl. LOL. Who knows? I am excited either way. We adopted our baby boy as an infant in 2007. He is now my big boy 3 year old! He's so excited also and when we ask him what he wants or what he thinks the baby is, he states every time ,"It's a GURL." LOL! I will be happy with a boy or girl. After all of the misscarriages and the death of our baby boy in 1998 I feel God has blessed us in so many ways now. First with the adoption of our son and now this little baby!

Had my monthly OB appointment yesterday and the heart beat was strong! 152 bpm. She told me that my uterus is growing great 2! I also had some genetic screening done (bloodwork). SOmething called a quad screen? Has anyone had this done? Did it turn out well for you or did you have to have further testing? Jst wondering. Thanks!

Just wanted to say congratulations!
You sound like a very blessed Momma  :-)

Are you having one of those 3D or 4D ultarsounds? I heard they are pretty darn cool.

Too cute about your son. Hopefully he will get what he wants  :-)

Congrats!!!!!!!!

I had the quad screen and NT scan. It is not 100%. We didn't do it other than our doctor wanted us to do it since I wouldn't do am amnio.

Congrats on the date for finding out the sex! I know you will be so excited. How many weeks weeks will you be at that ultrasound??

Congratulations on all your "miracles" so far...

I know how exciting it is to find out the sex!! The wait is a killer! LOL

I had the quad screen test at about 16 weeks. Turned out well for me. No further tests. I'm "older" at 37 and the dr said before the test, my chances of the baby having genetic problems was about 1 in 600. After the results came back my chances are like 1 in 7000. So that's good news. I tell you the wait for the results (7-10 days) was a LONG one!!

Best wishes to you!!

My OB makes you wait until 20 weeks to do the BIG ultrasound. He says that even though you can have one done earlier he likes to be more sure and at about 16-18 weeks along most babies are curled up still so he doesn't like to disappoint parents to be if they are all excited to find out. Plus the main observation of having this ultrasound is not to just find out the gender, but actually the OB checks for spinal problems and also check the babies neck and head to make sure there isn't any problems. So I'll be 20 weeks at this ultrasound as much as I would love to have one sooner I know that it's safer to wait and listen to my OB. After all he is the High risk doctor. LOL.

The wait on the quad screen is harder. You just want to know everything is healthy for the baby. Kinda scary given the problems I have had in the past. So I was told results could take up to 2 weeks. I'll be praying for patience.

Just a cautionary tale: I had my BIG u/s at 22 weeks and they couldn't tell me the gender.  I was super disappointed.  So just...prepare for that possibility.  I wasn't able to get a confirmation that she was a girl until about my 25th week, I think.

I did the quad screen. My numbers were good for someone younger than me. I was off the charts for a 38 year old (only 37 at the time but I am 38 now). I didn't have any other tests done by choice. In fact, my high risk OB and my reg OB said if it was them or their wife, they woudn't do it,

Good luck with finding out.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
