I've been lurking for a little while.....

And now that I'm pretty sure we are actually going to start trying in August, I thought I'd say hi! I think I posted about vits before, but I'm completely cleared with 1 prenatal w/ DHA and 1 reg multi along with all the other stuff rny-ers take! The doc was suprised at how much research we'd done. It isn't like we can accidently get pregnant because I'm a lesbian! I'm hoping it doesn't take long to conceive, but am willing to try for a while! I'll be 14 months out at the end of August. We have a donor picked out and he's ready to go! I've never been pregnant, not sure if I can get pregnant but we're soooo ready to try!!
Anyway, I'm excited to get to know all of you!
Any advice is welcomed and greatly appreciated!

BTW-I'm 13 months out now and have had stable weight for 7 months. The surgeon, the Dr. and the Ob have cleared me for pregnancy! No goal wa**** but I'm pretty sure if I had gotten a tummy tuck I would be below goal, or within the range I was given!

Congrats on taking the first steps!  How exciting!  I hope that you won't have to wait long after you start trying!

Congrats! From what I've seen, people who lose a lot of weight after surgeries generally get pregnant quickly! I'm not one of the lucky ones (I've had poor weight loss with my band) but I'm still trying! See you around :)

If you don't mind me asking...I'm extremely curious...will this be IVF? There are several others here too. You will get tons of advice and HONEST opinions, so be prepared...LOL

Thank you all so much!!! We are trying the at home inseminations first! We don't have a lot of money and would like to spend what little we have on the baby instead of trying to get the baby if that's at all possible!

Just wanted to pop in and say good luck to you! Due to medical reasons for my husband, we had to use donor sperm. I also briefly considered trying home insemination, however because my cycles aren't always the same length, I thought timing might be an issue, and wasn't really sure I could do it myself LOL.  So I did IUI and got pregnant on the 1st try (along with Clomid and a trigger shot as the RE thought these would probably help). Currently waiting to go for an u/s on Aug 9th (i'll be about 7 weeks then) to see how things are going, and to see if there is more than 1.    But I have read of people doing the home inseminations and having success, so hopefully it will work right away for you too!
