Personal question that I would liked answered.
Sweetie, you are certainly NOT alone! 80% of the population has HSV. 1 of 5 people has HSV2 . People who developed HSV1 in childhood tend not to get HSV2 - they build some type of immunity.
If you are having outbreaks, stay away from peanut(s) butter and chocolate. See link below for other foods.
You don't have to have a c-section at all. Speak to your doc - he/she could put you on anti-virals before delivery.
A sure way to keep outbreaks away is to build your immune system. Eat good natural foods, take your supplements. Research on natural remedies.
Go out to the store right now - and I'm telling you this is like a "sure remedy" - get yourself some flounder fish and eat it. It sounds silly, but you should always keep flounder frozen and on hand. Get yourself to start eating it.
I wish you well. Please get to researching. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER WITH OUTBREAKS!

Typically your GYN monitors Herpes and has patients on doses of Valtrex. Is this not the case with you?
If you are not currently receiving medications for herpes with a doctor, then you need to be upfront about your situation and let them handle it as necessary.
For future reference, always be up to date with doctors when you have a medical condition going on, especially if you are in the position to conceive since it CAN affect your baby.
Good luck.
