yes, this is my first pregnancy and all i did for the first 13 weeks was gag and dry heave. All day. The ob did give me diclectin, and it worked fantastic after I was on it for a bit. I was non-functional without.
Good Luck!

Ugh, I'm so sorry!  I've been fortunate in that I haven't had any vomiting.  I do have some Zofran on hand (leftover from my surgery) and there were a couple of times when I took it because I just felt so damn nauseous.  For me, the worst part is that I get occasional headaches, and my lower back hurts.

I also don't have much of an appetite, and have actually lost 5 pounds.  It's been hard for me to make sure I get in all of my nutrients, because I don't feel like eating.  I can't take prenatal vitamins because they're too dang big for me to swallow.  So, I discussed options with my OB, and she said just to take Flintstones or Gummy Vites so that I get SOME vitamins... plus I take a tiny sublingual Folic Acid/B12/B6 tablet.  So, if your vitamins are making you ill, maybe you could try something else that won't bother you as much.  My doc told me that the vitamins are more for the mother than they are for the baby, anyway... because the baby takes nutrients from what we eat first, and then we get whatever is leftover.  But it still doesn't hurt to take them if you can tolerate them.

Hopefully you will get over the nausea once you reach your second trimester.  Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones!

I've had to take Zofran the majority of my pregnancy. My other 4 pregnancies COMBINED didn't have me puking a quarter of the time that I was puking and nauseous with this baby. I'm delivering Monday evening and I'm still taking my Zofran! lol Just recently I got put on the Zofran ODT's (which are oral disovable tablets) and they are wonderful! Just pop em under the tongue until they dissolve and nausea is gone. There's no reason to be miserable....just ask for the meds. It's amazing how quick life becomes bearable again after getting some relief! lol

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

uh, I am still wishing to feel better! I am taking 2 gummy Flintstones vitamins 2x's a day. The chewable prenatal I was given really makes me sick. Also I am keeping the Altoids around to help me after I eat.

I am miserable.  I saw my OB this morning for my first appt.  He told me I could quit the prenatal for a week or and see if it helps.  He said it won't do any harm.  He also said if the morning sickness gets out of control he can prescribe Zofran.  I'm using Sea Bands from the pharmacy and they seem to help.  Also, I bought Preggie Pops from Motherhood Maternity (you can also order them online - I recommend the fruit ones) and those calm my tummy too.  Small, frequent meals help and lots of fluid.  Hang in there - one day at a time we'll get through it.  And then we'll have our little ones in the end.  FWIW, my OB was happy I am sick because it's a healthy sign.

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

QueenDee,

Sorry to hear you're going through this. If you want to take Bariatric Advantage Multi-Viatimnis, as they're chewable and yummy that may help as far as prenatal and getting Folic Acid. Bariatric Adv has more essential viatimins that Stuart Prenatal pills (which is suppose to be the best on the market) and has the same amount of Folic Acid. Also I take Viactiv Chewables for my calcium and it tastes like a tootsie roll so very easy to take. Good luck and I hope things get better for you.
