Introducing Abigail Faith :)
I haven't had a chance to post much lately, but let you all know I had my little girl by scheduled c-section monday morning at 9:58am :) She is 5lbs. 12oz at full term (TINY), but completely healthy :) She actually came out kicking and screaming and trying to nurse right away. I am shocked that I made it to my due date with everything that has happened (for anyone who has read my previous posts). I am bottle feeding, but nursed the first few times for colostrum and antibodies. (I think breastfeeding is wonderful...I just have terrible supply issues)
My epidural was rough, the recovery has been brutal pain-wise (long story), but I am so thrilled she is here and healthy and that I am finally home! All stresses just melt away as soon as you see that tiny little face.
I'll post my birth story soon when I feel better (still on pain meds)..but here are some pics. She had a bit of jaundice, but is doing very well.

She is beautiful! Congratulations! As long as she is healthy that is great! Both my boys were small, 3 & 4 lbs. My oldest was 4lbs at full term and he came right home with me (he had jaundice too, but breastfeeding helped with that) and we both were released after 3 days. Hopefully she can come right home! Treasure every minute because they grow so fast! My son was double his birth weight by 2/3 months. They grow so fast. He gained about 2.5/3lbs a month!
Congrats again!

I LOVE MY PREEMIES!
Thank you for the reassurance...I needed to hear it :) She is home with me, but I feel very timid with her still (even though I've had other children it's been years since I've had a newborn..let alone one so tiny!).
She eats like a champ and I hope she is gaining weight..I'll find out on my Tuesday morning appointment with the pediatrician. The nurses at the hospital were very strict...forced me to only feed her every 3 hours...no earlier, but she wants to eat every two hours usually so I'm letting her. I just hate making her cry for an hour when she is so small just because a hospital told me to when my mother's instinct is telling me the exact opposite. At night she will go almost 4 hours between feedings, so I don't think I will make her sick by letting her eat more often.
Thanks again...I will update soon! :)

They told me to feed my kids every 3 hours too, but motherly instincts took over and I fed on demand with both of my children. They both developed their own schedule. If they drank 6oz at a feeding instead of 4oz, I knew the next feeding would be stretched out to a later time. They were really good about that. That was the only way to get them to stretch feedings out to 4 hours. I always fed my kids on demand. There were days where they were hitting a growth spurt and wanted to eat every hour, so I let them. They would cry when they were hungry, why not feed them?
I know what you mean about them being tiny. My 2nd was 3lbs 4oz when i took him home. He didn't stay in the hospital b/c he was feeding, maintaining body temp, and doing everything he was supposed to so the army doctors let me take him home after 10 days in the NICU. That was scary. I was concerned about the fact that he had a little trouble maintaining body temp in the NICU and I wondered how I would know if he was too hot or cold. I had other concerns and it was hard, but you will be fine. It will just come to you!
You'll do fine!
