I don't think that's true.  I asked my OB if my DS would affect a vaginal delivery in any way and he said nope.  Not concerned at all.

Best of luck to you!  It might be a good idea to try to get your OB and bariatric surgeon hooked up, because I'm sure bariatric surgeons would be up on any common pregnancy complications in post-op patients.  Maybe your surgeon can straighten the OB out.

This is the first I've heard of this...I had RNY and although I did have 2 c-sections it definitely wasn't because of my RNY.  My1st c-section was an 'emergency' for failure to progress...I stopped dilating at 5cm although my contractions were 'textbook for delivery'.  Then my OB flat out told me in the OR as he was stitching me up that he did not VBAC and that if I had more I would have repeat c-sections.  That was ok with me...I'd had 16hrs of labor and had a FULL appreciation for it.

I say go for the natural delivery...

BTW - I'm in nursing school right now...what area of nursing are you in?  I love the ER and want to do that when I get my RN license (right now I'm in a LVN/LPN program)...
