Hi all. An introduction or re-introduction, and then my question-

I'm 35 and have a son from a previous marriage. Been with current DH for about 7 1/2 years (Had my RNY 4 years ago) and we started TTC 1 1/2 years ago. When it wasn't working, we did some testing, and found out my husband has a genetic issue, which (essentially) means he can't  biologically father children. So we did IUI using donor sperm, and last week (on my son's 10th birthday) i got my BFP!

So now I'm trying to figure out what I should eat. I've probably never eaten exactly what I should, and I do eat carbs, so I'm sure I'm not in Ketosis. But sadly I know little about calories or how much protein is in what. I do eat protein first meals. And have been taking all my vits/supps..

Just wondering, What do you eat? Like if you want to post me your food diary for a day, it would be super helpful, and if you know how many calories it or or how much protein/carbs it is, that would be great!   Thanks so much!!!

Congratulations!  You should eat something about every 2-3 hrs to help maintain stable blood sugars.  I didn't track exact numbers, but I made sure I ate well rounded meals with protein & carbs (typically chicken w/ mashed potatoes...loved them prego! and a veggie or salad) and for snacks, I usually had a low carb yogurt & cheese stick with 1-2 saltine crackers.  Sometimes my snack was just a cheese stick...

As for vitamins my regimine was ok'ed by my OB & surgeon...2 prenatal vitamins (One Sourse Brand), 1 super B complex, 1 sublingual B12, & 1000-1200mg calcium citrate.  You definiitely want to make sure you get that folic acid in right now.

Good luck and congratulations!!

Hi Kristy and thanks!

And thank you for some of the food ideas. I went out and bought some yogurt, I haven't had any in a while. I talked to the surgeon's office today and they recommend visiting with their nutritionist. I dont really read people here getting that recommendation, but my surgeon's office is weird. They also suggested changing to a Prenatal vitamin, but I'm on Celebrate vitamins and since there's 800mcg of folic acid in there, my ob's office said I can stick with that.  And I am also taking 10,000iu D, 1500g calcium citrate, B12 1000mcg daily, b6 (50 or 100mg?) daily, and 2 iron (I think they're 60mg, i can't remember off the top of my head) so I think I'm all set on vitamins. Just need help on what to eat :)
