A post preg weighty question
My DH, our 3 yr old blessing (we were told that we would never have children because of PCOS and weight issues, 19 years ago) and me, all want to have another baby. I had a dream last night that were were trying to have another and I put the breaks on the whole idea and the only thing I remeber saying is that I didn't want to put the babys life in danger because of my wanting it and not caring about the consquenses to the baby. i have worked so hard to get the weight off, I do not want to get it back. I have an OBGYN that has had lapband and has studied the preg after WLS and is comfortable with taking care of them. My current dr suggested him, because he didn't know enough and he does not deliver at my hospital so he couldn't see me anyway. He did mention losts of bloodwork, visits with sug, nut and him. I do not want to put the baby's life at risk because of may age ( I will be 41 in Sept.) or the WLS. I am thinking of this now before I get to the 12-18 mo timeline the doctor set up. (I agree with the timeline because I am not at goal weight yet either).
Anyway, I guess my question is how does the pregancies effect the weight coming back off. What are the risks that you know of to watch for. Any advise please.
Beverly
And I am so not one to encourage an early post op to try and get preggo, but taken your age - you are married and in the right cir****tance and you want another - you unlike some actually like your kid after having him - you actually care .
Go for it Beverly! You don't need to gain a bunch of weight during a pregnancy AND you can eat very healthy and exercise.
Blessings,
